And Rath wasn't there?

RE: Bearcats out to eat at Salem Gardens. - rath v2.0 - 03-20-2013 05:40 AM

Nope. Baseball practice. Dangit.

Besides, one of the many casualties of me losing 30+ pounds so far in 2013....my 3 times a week for drinks or a burger has turned into once a month.

Watching what I eat is killing my UC basketball face time!

I frequent Salem Gardens, it is a great. If I had to compare to anything I guess it would be something like Zips in Mt. Lookout, or Sports Page downtown.

Thanks. After comfortably carrying 235-240 on my frame for a decade, my week in Cancún over X-Mas got me to the point where I was officially a half pound closer to 300 than I was 200. Ru-ro.

Creeping down toward 215 this week. Probably have not seen that number since I was an undergrad 18 years ago.

I sorely miss multiple huge IPAs in a sitting, though.

Love Salem Gardens. Decent food, fun atmosphere.

Looks like Mick is an official former Westsider, like me.

So, you were at 250.25 lb? Impressive! 04-bow

I think I need to do the same thing. Shedding 15 would do at this point. I don't look forward to reducing beer to do it, but whatever works.

Make sure you cut out sugary drinks like Coke and Pepsi too. Really helpful in shedding pounds!

I cut out all eating between meals, all fried foods, and all sweets. Those were the biggies for me. I figure I have a month or two more of living like a monk ahead of me to get me to the weight listed on my drivers license that I have not updated since 1990.

I've cut out soda but I need to follow your lead and stop the in between snacking, the fast food lunches, and the fried foods. I was off to a good start at the beginning of the year but got off track as I usually do.

I was just told about a site called MYFITNESSPAL.COM. Try it out it has helped me lose 10 pounds in a month. You put in the weight you want to get to and it gives you a set of calories to eat a day and you can see different stuff like Carbs, Fats, Chol.,Fiber, Soduim.

Kind of like the Weight Watchers but you dont need to belong to them.

I have Diabetes and have to watch my Carbs and Fats and Fiber and it helps alot.

Looks interesting. It looks like it is all free, but is it really all free? I'm OK if they try to get you to upgrade to special tools that you don't need as long as you can easily get past those, but I don't think I need any of that junk. Didn't know if there was any warnings you had about it before I sign up. Thanks.

It's free and there's an app for that.
