2014 Football Recruiting Thread - inductchuck16 - 02-21-2013 08:55 PM

If you guys hear of any verbals, offers, or other UT Rocket recruiting news over the next year, feel free to post the information on here.

Who do you guys think we need to go after? Any players locally you'd like UT to give a look at?

Owens will be gone after next season so I think that will be our biggest question going into recruiting. I'd love to secure a solid QB in the 2014 class. Campbell will also probably be gone, IMO.

Definitely need some new jumpers. Douglas, Bolin, Fu and Jing are all seniors. With Jin as interim coach I'm sure he'll be making that a priority. We have a great jumping tradition over the years-like to see that continue. It concerns me that we have only one jumper listed on the roster.

I need to go to the doctor soon. I just realized I may be narcoleptic.

LOL, jk with you H2O.

There is a WR and QB that both play for Detroit Country Day. I would love for UT to get both of these guys but I think they would both have to not play their senior seasons for that to happen...especially the WR. I expect both to get a ton of attention this year from high AQ teams though.

Our first commit for the class of 2014!!!!

LB William White passes on BCS offers & commits to Toledo!

A 3 star out of state powerhouse Cass Tech in Michigan.

RE: 2014 Football Recruiting Thread - MotoRocket - 04-20-2013 05:30 AM

Saw the name and had to wonder if he is related to the former Buckeye by the same name who I think played with the Lions for several seasons about the time Spielman was also there. Would be about the right age to have a son graduating from high school - White would be about 46. Saw that the William White from Cass Tech also attended the Nike camp in Columbus. Not an uncommon name I suppose, but would have some good football genes if that was his father. No mention of it in the article.

It's him.

Tyler Wiegers committed to Rutgers and Maurice Ways will probably wind up at Michigan.

William White is a real nice pickup for Toledo. BCS-quality linebacker.

That's interesting. I didn't think he would end being related - but kind of neat that he has that bloodline. His dad was a ferocious hitter as a Free/Strong safety in the NFL. I think he was only about 5'9 or maybe 5'10" (guessing) but very well built with good speed.

Nice get for UT.

Jamal Woodland has committed to the Rockets. 2 different sites have him at 2 different sizes. Rivals has him at 6'2" 185 lbs and as a safety, while Scout has him at 6'1" 170 lbs and as a wide receiver.

He's the 2nd commit for our Rockets.

Both White and Smith are 3 star recruits per Scout.

RE: 2014 Football Recruiting Thread - inductchuck16 - 07-09-2013 05:28 PM

Northern Illinois has 34 pages of information on their 2014 football recruiting thread...are we really that outnumbered here on CSNbbs.com??

It's Dekalb in the middle of nowhere. They have nothing better to do than think every recruit in America should be considering NIU.

RE: 2014 Football Recruiting Thread - inductchuck16 - 12-16-2013 03:05 PM

Per rivals.com, Toledo currently has only two 3 star players signed. A QB (we all know about) and an athlete in Mykale Rogers with offers from Louisville and West Virginia.

Some other recruits that stand out:

We've got a DE Corey Jones with offers from Illinois, Virgina and Wake Forest.

A safety in Jamal Woodland with offers from Clemson and Syracuse.

Those are about the only recruits that stand out to me (considering their offer list).

RE: 2014 Football Recruiting Thread - Toledo Football 1st - 12-16-2013 04:21 PM

I noticed that, too. Sure hope the class starts looking better.
