I think ECU will be ready for this one... punches aside, i'm thinking pirates in a nail biter!

They were going to win that first game against ECU easily too. This should be a pretty tough game for them even with Sampson and Bowden out.

Memphis leads the all-time series against ECU 13-1.

Memphis is 6-1 against ECU in Minges. Of the six wins, only one was under a ten point margin of victory. That was way back during the 2004-05 season when Memphis won by 6.

The one win by ECU in the series occurred on 03-02-11. The Pirates and Tigers were tied at the half, 28-28. ECU took control in the second half and won by 11.

I enjoy the history segment, thanks.

I think missing two players will leave ECU vulnerable to being worn down by Memphis' deep bench and athleticism.

This might sound funny coming from a UTEP fan but I'm rooting for the pyrites to win this game.
Ecu, if you take out Jackson you might have a chance to win. I think since he's so puny one punch will do. 03-nutkick

Yeah, we'll have to do something crazy like hit 65% of our 3-point attempts or something to win.

Losing Sampson is a KILLER... I was looking forward to this game, too. Oh well..

...gotta pull for MEM...want their RPI up as high as possible for the "Hurt at the Yurt" brawl on the 9th...may be the best ever at RG if we are both undefeated in conference...we still have to get by UAB and UCF on the road

...one could argue for MEM to lose would help us out with an at-large, but I want us to earn it like last year...

It might not have been easy, but they did win by 13.

Thanks...............USM has always been like a brother or sister to ECU. We have a long history together. I am hoping USM can get into BE with us and if not ECU willl continue to play USM in non-conference games. I really believe USM will be the dark horse for fb championship this season. Last season just did not happen especially after 17 winning season in a row. Coaching does make a difference so all teams need to bring your A game against USM.

We still have to play both of them twice still Stink.. that's why I'm not sure. I'm leaning toward having to pull for Memphis.

ECU has always been my second favorite team. I am still stunned after a 0-12 season....

....just from a pure RPI perspective, ECU winning only hurts us long term

...if you think MEM will lose more than a few than it would most likely be better for at-large for them to lose

...based on last year, I take RPI value since if we lose to them it won't hurt as much if they decide to win out (and it's not like they can't)

...it is a toughie

Thanks for love.......USM lost in overtime to UCF who won championship so the talent was there the hold time....coaching does make a difference.

The best rpi team that both will face the rest of the year is each other.

I don't see any other choice for each to hope the the other wins all of their remaining games against other teams and let the chips fall where they belong in the black and blue series/tournament.

...is all business at this point ...is the only way I know how to look at it now ...hence your point (and mine)

If neither win the tournament....damn this one could be very interesting by the time it plays out...e.g. both USM and MEM in top 30 RPI and don't win the tourney...3 cusa teams??? My brain says, "should be", but my "take it up the pucker" says another....

Thanks for love. Glad you are in CUSA. Hope ECU and UNCC can work out schedules in future as it would be an outstanding road game.

As a long time standing member of ECU Pirate Club I assume you what happen the other night is not acceptable by any and all Pirates.
Thanks for love and good luck in your future games, too.

No need to sugarcoat it, Memphis will win by double digits. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
