Funeral Arrangements for Dave as follows.... Visitation Thursday night 5-8 at Forest Hill South on Holmes Road and funeral Friday morning at 11am at Long View Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch. Interment will be at Forest Hill South immediately following the service
I was told his Mom wants no black....all blue and grey....Dave will be buried in grey slacks and his #1 TIGER FAN blue shirt.

Longview Heights Baptist Church is at 4501 Goodman Road in Olive Branch, I think that is hwy. 302 as well. Basically right between Southaven and Olive Branch (proper). The sanctuary is on the east side when you are facing south. I will be attending and wearing blue. I am going to miss Dave, he was my support amongst all those Black Bear fans that attend Longview. They didn't have many bad things to say about our Tigers when Dave was around. Wow, I just listened to him sing a few weeks ago..........

David Howard Toombs, 39, of Olive Branch, MS, joined his Dad, grandparents, cousin Jerry McClure, and Aunt Lou Looney in heaven on January 6, 2013. David was a soloist in the choir of Longview Heights Baptist Church, a graduate of the University of Memphis, and a loyal University of Memphis Tiger fan for many, many years. David loved Southern Gospel Music, all sports, and his friends and family. He is survived by his mother, Linda Toombs, his Uncle Johnny and Aunt Thelma McClure, several cousins, and his dog Pepper. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 10 at Forest Hill South. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Longview Heights Baptist Church with graveside service to follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Longview Heights Baptist Church’s Music Ministry, and the University of Memphis Tiger Scholarship Fund. Donations may be made to the Big David Toombs Memorial Fund at any Bank of Bartlett location.

I was just told Dave's Mom has $16,000.00 in funeral expenses and the fund has $500.

For Out of Towners like me, I was told a check could be mailed to:
6281 Stage Road
Bartlett, TN 38134
Include a note to deposit the money in the David Toombs Memorial Fund.
I figured I would go by a branch while I am in town tomorrow for visitation if I haven't been sucessful online by that time.

thanks for posting that....yeah, they seem to be having problems with that pay pal generated link...keeps timing out so I'm gonna mail my donation in.

You can just walk into a branch of Bank of Bartlett and hand your donation to a teller.
