...within the past hour, he has learned or reconfirmed that:

1. The BE will not dissolve.

2. SDSU just reconfirmed its commitment to remain in the BE.

3. The NCAA will give the FB schools a BB AQ bid.

To me it means that roadblocks to creating a 2nd conference out of this are out of the way, and they (the fb schools) have a plan of what they want to do.

Time to get Boise State, San Diego State, UNLV and Fresno into this conference as all-sports members. Aresco needs to show some balls and vision and get moving before it is too late.

uconn, cincy, temple, smu, houston, tulane, memphis, ecu, usf, ucf


they should get a bb aq. As for sd state, maybe they like the big west + hoping for a big 12 football only invite someday.

As I read what he wrote (and I could be over parsing words) they keep the league and we move out into a new league. But that it gets the auto bid, means the only significance is that it may void the bowls and MSG (the latter would have happened anyway) but where else are the bowls going to go?

Where do we sign? I think Navy will bail, so you could take 2 more. UNM and Tulsa for 16 all sports. If they stay for fb only then 1 of UNM, Tulsa

With/without doesn't matter, we will need a new name anyway Big East with west coast teams in it is just stupid anyeay. I say let the have the name. We can let the lawyers fight over the rest.

If Im the Big East I would go after some Atlantic 10 schools. The best ones and leave the sucky ones for the 7!!!!
