Please find where in the rules it says that and let me know It's officially official: Steelers OL coach & UTEP alum will be introduced as UTEP HC - MU42 - 12-10-2012 02:03 PM We hired a recruiting coordinator, and while we have great talent we have no coaching. And while your guy might be a good position coach I prefer that a new head coach should have at least had control of the offense or defense. I thought Hawkins was the best candidate for u guys. RE: It's officially official: Steelers OL coach & UTEP alum as UTEP HC - DFWMINER - 12-10-2012 02:24 PM Well I thought SHSU head coach Fritz was our best candidate but I'm 100% behind coach Kugler. He and I were at UTEP at the same time. I remember him as a hard nose, tough and aggressive player. I think this is exactly what UTEP needs right now. I appreciate what Coach Price did for UTEP but his teams were soft. Physical teams always gave us fits. We always seemed to fade in November as well The decision has been made and I hope all Miner fans line up and support Coach Kugler. I will inform Bob Stull that you disapprove of his decision. He'll be devastated. A contract has not been signed. Perhaps he'll reconsider. I'll have him contract you by private message so he can make a more informed choice after consulting with you. TU's current HC, Bill Blankenship, was never a coordinator or HC at the college level until he was announced as HC. I like to think he is doing a pretty good job at his alma mater. Steelers OL coach will be introduced as UTEP HC - CougarRed - 12-10-2012 05:01 PM After the Kim Helton experience at Houston, I did some research. As a result, I'm not high on hiring NFL assistant coaches who have no prior HC experience. But at least Kugler is a UTEP grad. I hope it works for them. Steelers OL coach & UTEP alum will be introduced as UTEP HC - UTEPDallas - 12-10-2012 05:27 PM For some reason I like this hire. When you hire somebody regardless of the profession, you're taking a gamble. It might pay off eventually or it might be a mistake. It's still early to judge Kugler at this point but considering we we're now, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he's the kind of coach I've been waiting for UTEP to hire: a young coach who will take us to the next level and keep building on the foundation Mike Price built. I admit I wanted Willie Fritz but I like this hire too. Stull knows him well and coached him at UTEP. He has followed his career and Kugler is getting all kinds of accolades from coaches, including Chris Petersen of Boise St who calls him the best coach he has ever been around. I think this is going to work out just fine but the proof is in the winning. Can't wait for September 2013 but I have to anyway.
