Skip Holtz fired at USF? - Fort Bend Owl - 12-02-2012 12:40 PM No link but he's trending on twitter - never a good sign. RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - pirateradio97 - 12-02-2012 12:42 PM True..Per Brett McMurphy..Press Conference at 1pm RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - NBPirate - 12-02-2012 12:48 PM This should prove to people that ECU the program won CUSA games at an 80% clip, not coach Holtz RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - techdawg88 - 12-02-2012 12:55 PM If LaTech loses Dykes to Berkley (Cal), would Holtz be someone to look at? As long as he leaves his OC (Todd Fitch) in Tampa... RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - C2__ - 12-02-2012 12:57 PM Last time I checked, Holtz revived ECU from the abyss it was in under Thompson. That era as well as Ellis Johns year at USM should show you what a bad coach really is as opposed to (seemingly) an underachiever. I was wondering if anyone would notice the Dykes to Berkley comment since it's such a liberal place RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - HerdZoned - 12-02-2012 01:39 PM I would think that Skip would be high up on a lot of ADs wish lists right about now. He is a good coach, he just got caught in a no win situation for a few reasons at USF. RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - ECUgradstudent - 12-02-2012 02:38 PM USM should go after Holtz hard. Even if he stays only 4 years, it would be to their benefit. RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - StillJonesing - 12-02-2012 03:42 PM I think Holtz would be a perfect fit for USM. He was a in a very similar situation here and brought us out of it. He's a good football coach but something that's never mentioned is he's also a great salesman and would help get your boosters and fanbase back on board. RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - PirateTreasureNC - 12-02-2012 03:42 PM USM or UTEP? Southern Miss, they are only one year removed from a CUSA Championship so I don't think one terrible season will hurt recruiting that much RE: Skip Holtz fired at USF? - StillJonesing - 12-02-2012 03:46 PM Also having been fired now and pushing 50, even if he wins at USM or where ever he goes I don't see him ever having a lot of upward mobility at this point. I don't really don't think he could leave them for a lot of other more attractive jobs and he's pretty much assured he's not going to get another BCS job even if he is successful again. They were good at upset victories out of conference but just couldn't get in done in BE play. |
