is what caused the poor showing at ECU.

IMO, this falls on coaching.

coaching sucked, you're a nice guy price, but enough is enough. Lamaison isn't very good

We shouldn't expect UTEP to compete against superior teams. 90% of coaching comes down to talent. You just aren't going to win against teams that are more talented than you are.

ECU clearly has better athletes just like Wisconsin did and Oklahoma and Mississippi.

Most people expected UTEP to be 1-4 at this point.

I hate to ask, but where does the other 10% come from?

Rarely do coaches have the other 10%.

Coaches like Don Haskins had winning teams with inferior talent. I don't know what he did to get those players to perform beyond their abilities but he did.

A good coach can win championships with good talent but it takes a great coach to motivate their players beyond their abilities.
