Really low starting rankings for the Belt in this one. ULL at 110? That seems a bit low to me. The good news is that we can certainly move up when we win.

Takes about 5 weeks before they are based on current season

The Sun Belt ranked at 11th overall, the CAA at 12th with less than a 1 point difference... I wonder what happens when you bump GSU from the Colonial to the Belt?Rimshot

What happens? Sagarin remains a joke of a ranking system, that's what happens.

You put Georgia State in with the Sun Belt and...The Sun Belt is still a much better rated conference at year end, is at least tenth, and can pluck programs from the CAA at will. How many CAA teams would turn down a Belt invite? How many Southern?

I'm actually not so sure we can pluck CAA schools at will. Most CAA schools would prefer CUSA or even MAC(03-lmfao) membership over the Sun Belt. I'm not saying they would all turn us down, but any of them individually turning us down would not shock me.

Though it's likely only a matter of time before C-USA comes back for two more, so I guess we may find out after that.

You'd never get a school like Richmond, W&M, Delaware, Furman, Wofford, Davidson. And it has nothing to do with football or level of play.

Now the regional public institutions, game on.

I'm not so sure that CUSA will come after us next time. They might go after the MWC.

I don't like Sagarin either as they rated us low at 92. Real time RPI is much better at 78.

They probably will come after us if there's an opening. I dont think they'll have an opening anytime soon. Our teams are getting better. Who says there's going to be a next time soon anyway? Even if the Big East moves again, it is just as likely to be UNLV or Fresno or some MW school.

If you're the MW and have to replace say UNLV, do you go after Texas State or NMSU? or Montana? or even Idaho if they've upgraded? Sure they could move for Texas State AND UTArlington, but I see the other options as preferable from a geographical standpoint but Im not the one doing the picking.

I'll take our 110 rating knowing that we would wipe the floor with Ga Southern and App St.

A team that finished 9-4 last season and returns 35 letterman who played in over 45% of the snaps last year not to mention we are drastically more talented in all but 2 positions RCB and TE.

Tell that to Jeff Sagarin, not me.

You lost by 8 to a 4-8 Arizona team. I would say our showing against Bama was more impressive.
