Surprised, it's been a full day and no takers. Guess there's some unknowns or else nobody wants to take the plung.
Figured this board would start kickin in a little more 2 weeks out from the season startin.
I see 1 running TD, 2 passing and one coming from the defense with one FG.
14-10 at halftime / 17-7 second half / 31-17

It's hard enough to predict scores, especially the first games of the year. Do expect an excellent crowd of amped up fans from both sides. Turned into a barn burner last time. Figure the Pirates will win by at least ten points, but could be another good game. We should have Appy in the conference because they have great fan support and always good teams. Wouldn't mind taking a trip to the mountains during leaf season again. Gonna be a hot game either way. Go Pirates!

Willing to agree that this first game will be scary because of our offensive changes at the QB position. App State is generally pretty good for 1aa football. Even if I am in a feel good state I will find it hard to have us winning by more than 14 points because it will be our first test against live competition.

Appalachian should be better than last season but our offensive line is still getting broken in. I have confidence that our skill position players will stand up just fine but how we do up front will be the key. If our OL can hold their ground, I think it will be a very competitive game. If not, it could definitely get away from us. It could change before game day but if I had to guess, I'd say ECU by about 10. 31-20 or something along those lines.
If any of y'all are interested in writing up a preview of the game from an ECU standpoint including your prediction, please shoot me a PM or reply on the thread. I write for an App fan site (AppStateCentral.com, listed in my signature) and we are trying to get game previews from the perspective of the opponent's fans throughout the season. I don't expect you to leave all bias at the door as long as it is reasonable, I would just like to get input from someone who is much more familiar with the ECU team than myself.
