Tech Support Thread - SilentStryk09 - 05-31-2012 10:52 PM

Title says it all, post any tech questions you might have here and myself or somebody else can try to help you out!

I'd also recommend a visit (or regular visits) to Lifehacker... far too many great tips, tricks, and ideas over there:

My only warning is that it can get addictive/time-consuming to try and keep up with everything!

Is anyone able to get http://www.wmubroncos.com to load correctly with Firefox?

Nope... looks like ass on Chrome, too.

Yeah, I can NEVER get it to load correctly either.

Links constantly overlap and there are some links from the pull down menus that you can't even get to.

Very annoying.

Do you have Ad Block on your browsers?

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-01-2012 11:17 AM

Yes

RE: Tech Support Thread - stdatwmu - 06-01-2012 11:26 AM

Yes...

RE: Tech Support Thread - Brown and Gold - 06-01-2012 11:28 AM

The banner ad that is blocked does something to the text that keeps it in place. Try it without ad block. Maybe it might be the version but I have it working at work (older Firefox w/o ad block) and it works on my laptop at home (New Crome possibly with ad block disabled on page)

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-01-2012 11:30 AM

thanks for all the tips fellas.

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-01-2012 11:34 AM

At first glance...it definately seems to be better.

Still can't get the following to work though:

WMU men's bball home page
Far right link "MORE"
2011/12 Bio-Record Book and 2011/12 Interactive Guide

Drives me nuts. I can highlight them but once you try to click them, they go blank.

I have the same problem on the football page under the "MORE" link.

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-28-2012 01:27 PM

Ok fellas, this drives me nuts...

Typically I work with a mimimum of 3 webpages open...hotmail, pandora, work login, and sometimes a 4th being the stampede, twitter, mlive, etc...

Everyday, after a couple hours of browsing, everything freezes right up and I have to close all the pages, give it a couple minutes, and then I can reopen everything. It happens at least once a day, usually twice.

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? It's particularly annoying when I am writing an email to a client and can't toggle back and forth between pages, and then everything I wrote is lost.

What browser are you using?

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-28-2012 02:12 PM

Windows Vista

Internet Explorer.

I suck at terminology.

No worries.

Which version are you running?

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-28-2012 02:35 PM

Looks like Internet Explorer 8

RE: Tech Support Thread - SilentStryk09 - 06-28-2012 04:48 PM

i'd either upgrade to IE9 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/products/ie/home)

or download Chrome (chrome.google.com)

IE8 and below were pretty much junk compared to FireFox and Chrome. IE9 is a big step upwards, though.

Try that and see if it helps

RE: Tech Support Thread - EA3 - 06-28-2012 05:11 PM

Thanks, I'll do that first thing in the morning.
