Quote: Mr. Obama embraced a disputed method for counting civilian casualties that did little to box him in. It in effect counts all military-age males in a strike zone as combatants, according to several administration officials, unless there is explicit intelligence posthumously proving them innocent. Just curious, what court convicted Mushtag and sentenced him to die? I know that's a big thing in liberal circles. RE: How Obama keeps civilian death toll from drone strikes low - Redwingtom - 05-29-2012 03:37 PM It was a drone strike. You have to take the good with the bad don't you? While I don't agree with the killing of innocents, there's no denying Obama has taken full responsibility for the terror programs and that he is doing a damned fine job at it. RE: How Obama keeps civilian death toll from drone strikes low - I45owl - 05-29-2012 06:03 PM Taking the premise at face value, if the Obama administration has managed to increase drone strikes, one of the most successful decisions he's made, and at the same time, successfully lie about resulting civilian casualties, then all the more credit to them. That would indicate they are simultaneously taking effective action and winnning the propaganda war. He might can fool Americans about the number of civilian deaths, but it won't fool the people of the nations where it is occurring. You better believe every errant drone strike is being turned into anti-American propaganda. That will lead to more AQ recruits, which means more war, a greater threat of terrorist attacks against the U.S., and more of our civil liberties will be taken. Rinse and repeat until police state. |
