I like this schedule. I would prefer to play CMU in Sept or Oct. vs. Nov. There's a more of the chance we could get hit by the injury bug later in the season.

Got this off the NIU board.

How does this show up in the Orlando Sentinel? MLive...are you reading this?

Last year the CMU game was scheduled perfectly. I traveled 1000+ miles due simply to the scheduling. Imagine how perfect it was for more local fans. Attendance by both teams fans was outstanding. Impossible not to notice that unless you are the person in charge of setting up schedules. To take what is easily the biggest rivalry game in the MAC, let alone one of the recognized biggest rivalry games in the nation and bury it in November is more than irresponsible. Nothing short of Moronic. The MAC administrators continue to be their own worst enemies.

I don't see anything wrong playing the Central game the last Saturday of the season, a la Ohio State-Michigan.

What IS ridiculous is to play the game on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday night ANY month of the season but especially November.

I think part of the tradition of "burying" the game in November is the history of rioting in Mt. Gloom and K-zoo when the game was played in drinking/outdoor party peak season. Might be wrong, but you got to think that is part of it.

You may be right Ern but we played CMU last or next to last five times between 1974-80, then not again until '91.

If there is a madness to MAC scheduling method it's not apparent to me.

Instead of the packed house that the CMU - WMU game should have, I predict a half full house at best.
If I was scheduling this game, it would be scheduled similar to last year. When you have a chance to mazimize revenue and bring the most enjoyment to the most number of fans, you take it. Scheduling 101.

Well, since the conference makes the schedule, all the individual schools can do is make a request to play that game a bit earlier in the schedule. Doesn't mean it will be honored.

Yeah, gotta love those Saturday before Thanksgiving-Week 12 games against Kent or Akron in front of 3,000.

Southerners love football.

Midwesterners....love going around on their hoverrounds while tailgating at their Big Ten school of choice that they didn't attend.

Seriously, UCF starts football in the mid 90's and already has a 45,000 seat home stadium that they own. That's not happening in the MAC.
