Can some of the board elaborate on pay structures for home and home series? Do visiting teams get a part of the gate/concessions or a flat fee? Or are there no fees involved because there is a return leg?

Usually a flat appearance fee.

So for a home and home between Iowa State and Iowa, Iowa State would command the same appearance fee for when they travel to Iowa as would Iowa when they go to Iowa State?

I'm really not sure that is the way it works. If two unequal teams have a home and home series, it is possible little team A would only receive 50% of what big team B would receive, or whatever.
Under traditional home and home, it works just the way it is pointed out above. If it was us and Miami, we would both receive the same.

Home and home usually has the same "appearance fee" because all it is really doing is paying the travel expenses.

For UC Miami, its UC getting nothing every other year.
