Is that good? I know Ohio is usually good in football recruits but being in there with 4 B10 schools seems to me that you might get just get the leftovers. Not that I think that is a bad thing. 05-stirthepot

If we're getting leftovers, either Akron, OU, Kent, Miami, and BG aren't recruiting in Ohio? Or they're getting scraps because at least we busted the top 5!

Cincinnati was not on the list either. To Marc Gilver, who has no affiliation with Toledo or the Toledo Rivals site, he thinks Toledo is doing a better job of recruiting the state of Ohio than Cincinnati.

I haven't been following their recruiting but it seems to me that more and more MAC teams are spreading out their recruiting(many times south). Could this be because after all the BCS schools are done picking who they want, there is not a lot of top talent left and may be able to get better recruits elsewhere? THat is really all I was trying to get at.

I want to see a ranking of the people who rank the people who rank the recruits.

Most MAC schools, including Toledo are going after kids in other parts of the country.....like Florida. But those Ohio MAC schools are still getting a good number of kids from Ohio too. Below is a list of signees from the state of Ohio for Ohio MAC schools in the 2012 class.

Akron - 11
Kent State 14
Miami - 12
Ohio - 7 (signed 19 players)
Bowling Green - 5 (signed 20 players)
Toledo - 16

Ohio and Bowling Green are the only two Ohio MAC schools that really did not sign a usual amount of Ohio players. Toledo actually signed more Ohio recruits than in normal past years.

I did that once. The results showed that everyone's favorite school was #2.

Ohio is LOADED with HS football players. Surprised that BG only signed -5- from Ohio. I recall Clawson when hired wanted to make Ohio his base and thought he was making inroads in Ohio. Only -5- Ohio recruits in his 3rd year is surprising.

BG's problem with recruiting Ohio kids is that their school is located in the state of Ohio. It is easy for these recruits to make a trip to the campus for a visit and see what it looks like. They have more success getting the late recruits from Florida and Georgia that don't have a chance to make it up to campus before signing day to check it out. ;-)
