Bball season has been even more disappointing than I expected.
I foresee 2012/13 season to garner between as few as 7 wins and perhaps hopefully as many as 10 at best, not knowing the schedule until much later.
On the other hand I recall novak's first two seasons: 2-9 and 0-11.
Godda wonder which Huskie team will win more games next season: football or mens bball?
Perhaps the ladies next year will again have the most wins at seasons end.

As I said before, Tom Crean at Indians won I think 25 games in his first 3 years. Kelvin Sampson ruined the team and Crean had to basically start over. Similar to us.

Remember the graphic they showed during yesterday's NIU-CMU game? Toledo was 4-24 in 2010-2011. To date this year the Rockets are 15-14.
IMO, we could see that kind of improvement with the Huskies next season.

I expect to see 12+...then again I have never followed NIU-MBB till this year so what do I know.

I think the key is for the frosh to not get discouraged and transfer. If coach Montgomery can keep the roster together, avoiding radical turnover, then we should get better with the 2012 class coming in. That was one of Patton's problems, it seemed like he had 5-7 new players (incl transfers) each season and they would only stay for a year.

I agree with Bob, I think NIU finishes right at that .500 mark next season. Is Nader getting scary good or what!? Another point favoring NIU over the next 2 seasons is that the MAC is at a relative peak right now for bball, conference will be weaker next 2 years.

.500 is VERY optimistic. Yes, the MAC West is bad but we have a long way to go.
Around 10 wins sounds right to me....but I can't see into the future and weird things happen. You never know.
Assuming Monty can keep the guys together and recruit a few more decent players, I look at years 3-4 as the years when progress must be evident and .500 or better is more likely. But that's me.

Only slight similarity given the many years of success by Crean at Marquette and going all the way back to Al Mcguire.
much tuffer for NIU to overcome barriers to success when you have so little to draw upon from past years like does indiana or marquette.
was very surprised to just learn Crean grew up in MT P MI and attended CMU....and it reminds me that chris kaman of CMU is still on roster for NO Hornets....thought i recognized him other nite vrs Bulls.
