Pitt, Cuse and Louisville will all be gone in 2013. Now Rutgers and Big 10 rumors are starting again. Notre Dame will choose the Big 10 over the ACC. You better hope the ACC wants UConn.

He's only there a couple more months - he did what was required of him, Brity will deal with it this summer.

Nothing really definitive in there.

Quote:DU: When were the official documents actually signed?

CN: It was done. I can't remember -- I can't give you the date, but of course West Virginia was the last one to sign it over, but they're all in. So, right now, there's a feeling that 10 provides the opportunity for everybody to play each other in football and a double round-robin in basketball and that's appealing to a lot of our members. That's not to say there won't be further review of expansion, and that could well happen, but not on my watch down the road.

DU: Down the last road, you secured the first-tier money without a championship game, but that's up for renegotiation in 2014. Could you see that being a catalyst for future expansion?

CN: -- well, it could be. But I don't think that's necessarily what would drive expansion.

Search where? Is there a Bleacher Report article I missed? Did McMurphy write that? What are you referring to?

Wilkie:

I have no inside information, just several opinions (like you). Mine are:

1) ND is not going to join a conference for football.

2) If it were forced to, ND would join the ACC and not the Big Whatevernumber Conference.

3) I doubt that ND is going to leave the Big East.

4) I doubt that Rutgers is going to the Big Ten without ND.

5) I am pretty sure that Louisville will leave the Big East in 2013. Later for you guys.

1. Stookey, the current Big XII Commish is gone in a couple of months....he is correct that nothing will happen on his watch. His job was to stop the Big XII Bleeding...he has done this. What happens after July 1, 2012 is very much in the air.

2. Wilkie, chill on the rumors. It does nobody any good @ this point. When it "happens" then we can all move forward. Until then we are proud members of the BIG EAST.

I use to share links but all the little ladies are getting their collective panties in a wat lately. I am just going to watch smd wait for the shock of reality when it sets in. I'm going passive for a while. 04-cheers

Well then, every day till at least July 1, we can count on new threads about Louisville to the Big 12? I can't wait.

In all seriousness, why not just post these links and speculation on the Realignment forum so the Big East board can be left for actual sports talk? Wasn't that the whole point of creating the separate realignment board to begin with?

Nice. Take the time to write here and tell us what you 'know' but don't share a link for validation. Instead, hundreds of readers are challenged to 'go find it yourself'. That screams credibility! 05-stirthepot 04-rock

There's an article on Rivals saying BYU is in serious discussions with the XII about joining for the 2013 season, along with UL...

The most interesting part of that article is that it confirms that all 10 schools are locked in for the next 6 years.

That means no escape for anyone until 2018-19

In the mean time, UT has a majority voting block of schools in their back pocket (OU, OSU, BU, TTU & TCU). Why risk adding two possible dissenting votes that could pit the North against the South in two deadlocked voting blocks when you have full control right now?

There is a reason for that need for control. With all dissention gone and everyone else held hostage by the GoR and nowhere to go, UT now has carte blanchhe to ignore all the promises, pleas and concessions they agreed to while trying to keep A&M and MU in the league and instead go full throttle on LHN for the next 6 years and there is nothing any of the other schools can do to prevent the screw job.
