Is Belt Basketball Attendance Creeping Up ? - MG61 - 02-19-2012 10:43 PM

Just checked the official conference board & to date 3 teams have an average attendance over 4,000 for all games and 4 have an average of over 4,000 for conference games. For conference games only one team is averaging under 2,000. For those who follow basketball closely is this an attendance improvement ?

South had over 4k for our final home game of the season, against WKU, and we won. But other then that, our attendance isn't as good as we'd like.

WKU should be close to if not sold out its last two games..and I fully expect a standing room only crowd of over 7400 for sr. night against MTSU this coming Saturday

Definitely is at Middle, but also consider that if we win out through Hot Springs we'll have just about doubled our average win total over the last decade...

Definitely on the rise for Middle Tennessee. We had 7080 (WKU), 6806 (UALR), and 7805 (FAU) for our three last home games. That's 7320 a game in our last three games and 5688 average in the conference matchups. Next year will be something special. Fan support in the community has nothing but grown over the last months, and if we go far in the postseason I expect that to be tremendous in our advantage for next year's team. 24 wins is the school record, so I'd like to think there would be a growing trend for fan support as the season goes on. I seem to remember a certain FAU writer saying the Murphy Center is "like a morgue" for basketball games. Well, I believe that I and 7805 of my friends showed FAU. 03-wink

Oh, and wkuhilltopperfan - it may just be. I'll be there cheering on the Raiders and wearing plenty of blue! I think there will be plenty of MT Blue Raiders in the building for that one. It'll be a challenge for sure and a good game. Go Blue Raiders! 04-cheers

10k, it does look empty, that and the lower bowl is reserved seating, so the upper bowl can be full but you really can't see it on tv.

At Denver, we are averaging over 5,000 per game. Granted, a lot of them are inner city kids and their parents with a paid ticket program called Rising Stars, but with the team's succeess, more people are coming out than ever before.

The economy has really affected our attendance. The increased cost of paper bags means less fans at our games. [Image: brownpapernats1.jpg]
