He mentions that we had the 47th-toughest non-conference schedule. Shields took a chance there, but it seems to have paid off. It has made us tougher, but it could have demoralized us. I have seen it happen. But it worked out well; that is why he is the coach. Next year, bring it on!

It's a credit to Steve and the kids that they were able to keep their attitudes positive and turn things around when we hit the conference schedule. If we can win the Western Division again this year, Steve should be a lock for COY honors.
