Lipscomb - TennTexBruin - 01-05-2012 04:30 PM

Should we acknowledge the Lipscomb game tomorrow? I think we'll win based on -zero- statistcial analysis or empirical evidence.

I just have a feeling that they're not very good this year.

Since they are fairly young, they have been a bit up and down. They've looked decent a few times. Played Memphis closer than we did. That could have been more Memphis than them. But yes, stay on Burgason and we should win pretty easily. I'd like to see the effort we had against UNF instead of Jax though.

Nice to see Hanlen having a good SR year so far.

It'll be close for awhile. Two FM stations broadcasting the same game in Nashville. Lot of local publicity for the game. Good luck tonight, and out of curiosity, do Lipscomb students still have a curfew? If so, a "Past your curfew" chant would be incredible to the rhythm of "Let's go Devils."
There's no real comeback for the Lipscomb kiddies on that.

If we play defense, we win. Those guys are young and we are very capable and sometimes very, very good on D. The shots usually go in at home. Play D and limit turnovers, while staying aggressive, and we win. I am not really stressing like usual.

They are very young AND talented though. Can't let Burgason get off.

There was an article linked on Lipscomb's site about Burgason a couple days ago mentioning his 5-game suspension at the beginning of the year for violating team rules...ooooh, I wonder what he did to get suspended from the Davy Boys. Watch an R-rated movie? Was he in the room with someone who was drinking a beer? Stay up until 11:45 pm? The possibilities are endless.

Also, did anyone notice Lipscomb dropped their dumb nickname spelling? Goodbye Bisons and Lady Bisons, hello normal English spelling of Bison and Lady Bison.

A 28-6 run by the Bisons down the stretch when it counted. I sit three rows back, between the bench and center court. Rick was as mad as I have ever seen him in the first half. He made the comment to the assistants about midway that "we're gonna lose this game!"

Jacob Arnett for Lipscomb absolutely lit us up.

Cold shooting. Ian finally gets it together and everyone else goes cold.

I started watching Belmont in 2003 when I became a freshmen and I can't remember watching a more painful run against Belmont. This is the worst loss to Lipscomb we have had in the NCAA Division I era in my mind.

I can't even imagine what Rick Byrd was thinking. It really sucks that the next game isn't until Saturday. If there was any day to have another game only 2-3 days later to clear the air it would have been this one.
