I heard he's got to sit out a year, first, so he wouldn't be able to contribute this upcoming season. But a year of practice would probably be a good thing for his personal development.

Also from this article was some more information about his game:
Giplaye's game is predicated on defensive tenacity and constant work on the boards. He has always played bigger and stronger than your typical 6-foot-6 forward. But his offensive game remains a bit unpolished. He lacks reliability in his mid-range jumper and was just a 44-percent free-throw shooter at Providence.

I'm hearing that Giplaye is going to sign with us. Giplaye is a Sneed-like rebounder who will have an entire year to work on his offensive skills.

Still no definitive word on Giplaye, but I did find this snippet on a Providence sports website:
"Looks like Ron Giplaye is moving to East Tennessee State."

Here's an update on 2013 offeree, Darius Thompson:

The son of a college coach, Thompson is a smooth 6-foot-3 shooting guard with a feel for the game on the offensive end. He never has to waste dribbles, is a very good jump shooter and has the athleticism to get out and finish on the break. Thompson is built a bit slightly and has to get stronger, but he looks as if he would be a heck of a catch for programs such as Middle Tennessee State,Richmond, Tennessee State, Furman, East Tennessee State, Presbyterian, Drake and Stony Brook, which have offered. More recently, Boston College and Minnesota have expressed interest.
