Just because a kid from Memphis was kicked off the team, why would people think we would be in the running to get him? I sure don't want him but I don't think we are even in the picture.

Update of former prospect James Webb III: He has signed with North Idaho (Community) College: http://www.cdapress.com/news/sports/article_903ef8f7-4fdd-595c-a2b3-f0cce8cc0a46.html
Webb III had tweeted a few weeks ago that he signed with Boise State, but it looks like he's going the juco route.

Transfer recruit from Providence. Might be 6'6 Sophomore PF, Ron Giplaye.

Is supposed to be transfering here? The rumors even before the season ended were that he and another player (Dixson) were going to transfer to Towson.
The 3rd player Coleman is a shooting guard but looks to be the best of the 3 and is from Boston and we might still have connections up there.

He's not listed as committed to anyone. But all I know is that a transfer from Providence visited. My father, an ETSU faculty member, says he's about his size. Pops is 6'7/6'8, and the next closest Providence transfer, Dixon at 6'9, is committed to Towson according to cbssports. Unfortunately, Dad can't remember a name, but he got a close look.

Don't know but Ron Giplaye was recruited to Providence by Pat Skerry who is now the head coach at Townson. That is why most of the rumors seem to have him going there. He might still be taking other visits don't know, just stating what the rumors are.
Sounds like he has size, not sure about the rest of his game but he was being judged by Big East standards so he could very well dominate the A-Sun.

Thanks for relaying this, Shampoo.
According to this message forum- http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=425&f=1323&t=9032022 -Giplaye did in fact visit this weekend. From everything I've read, Giplaye sounds like a bruiser whose bread and butter is rebounding. From viewing the highlights below, he looks very Sneed-esque with his relentlessness and athleticism. Like Sneed, reports state that he's very raw on the offensive end.
This is what was said about Giplaye in the link to the blog that was provided by Rod:
Ron Giplaye, AKA the Gipper, was billed as a take-no-prisoners board crasher who wouldn’t back down to an opponent no matter what. Think of Giplaye’s game the same way you see a dog kamikazing a bigger, tougher dog with a reckless abandonment that you just have to respect. While Giplaye was a brute that could outmuscle his match-ups if they were bigger, his offensive game was something to write about if you’re into off-canon fan fiction for college basketball. What’s more, Giplaye seemed to struggle in making quick, tactical adjustments on defense to truly help at a Big East level, which demonstrated a low basketball IQ. He got better under a year of Cooley (and thus yielded more minutes) but ultimately decided he might be better heading elsewhere. While no official word has been released yet, the chances of Giplaye leaving are very high. Interestingly, with Giplaye and Coleman both leaving the team is now completely void of all BABC players. Diehard fans who have been watching certain events unfold, take that and speculate with what you will.
-From GO FRIARS:
Ron Giblaye, a 6'7" 240 lb. forward out of Wilmington, DE will be playing for Keno Davis' PC Friars next Fall. Giplaye's physicality and upper body strength are rated bigt assets by scouts. He's considered an excellent rebounder - something the Friars are lacking.
November, 2009: Giplaye's physicality and upper body strength have always been his biggest assets. He's added even more muscle to his frame this fall and now boasts a powerful, college ready body. Pound for pound he's one of the best rebounds you'll find and although his low post skills are far ..
If this kid is Big East potential but is lacking in offensive skill development, I think we should offer.
