The scrimmage the other night. - outsideualr - 10-30-2010 09:41 AM

It was difficult to tell a lot, but you could see a few nice things. Marlo made several nice shots around the basket, Solo made a couple of nice passes for layups, Matt is regaining his shooting touch, Reggie showed a nice shooting touch and D'Andre showed a lot of quickness at the point.
I was sorry Gus wasn't there. He had a six o'clock class and didn't participate. I would have liked to have seen how he has progressed.
According to Burn the Horse, it looks like the point guard spot will be in the hands of D'Andre and Chucky. Both extremely quick kids. Maybe our strongest combo at the point in years. At the two, Solo and Matt.
That's also a very strong position. I know Alex will be starting at the three, and I would imagine that's where Reggie will be the back up. I don't know that for sure. It just seems natural. The four and five will be congested with Derrick, Marlo, Montrelle, Eric, Courtney. and Gus. That's probably going to be the key. If our inside guys can hold their own, I think the rest of the team is pretty solid. We'll begin to get a little feel on the 12th against SMU. I guess we'll start off with D'Andre, Solo, Alex, Bails, and either Marlo or Courtney. Matt will probably be the sixth man in the rotation. Of course not seeing any of the practices, I really have no idea how they have been doing. Strictly speculation.04-cheers

I think who plays the four is going to tell us a lot about this team. Competition is stronger at that spot this year than in several years. If Courtney survives, he will have stepped up his game.
