MJS- What Do You Make Of BYU's Possible Move? - PTJR - 08-18-2010 09:25 PM

Everytime you think that the world of college athletics couldn't get any harder to figure and wierd, something comes along to prove you wrong. The latest is BYU's potential move to become a football independant and to rejoin the WAC for all other sports. Say what? Are there really enough Mormons out there who are big enough sports fans to make this work?

And we also now find out about the $5 million dollar pledge made by the rest of the WAC when Boise left for the MWC. So now, let's say this all starts to shake out and the MWC asks UTEP to join it from the CUSA, La Tech can't afford to accept a bid to the CUSA even if it was offered. The whole thing is bizzare to me.

What do you make of all this MJS?

What do you make of all this MJS?

I saw it on Goodman's blog but it makes absolutely no sense to me. Don't see how anyone but Notre Dame can survive these days as an independent. Why make a huge drop to a conference that doesn't have much now that Boise is leaving? Just doesn't make a lick of sense.
