The Notre Dame rumors got me thinking, what if Stoops left? What would be next? Who would be our coach? Would we get somebody from the inside, or some fresh blood?
I thought about it for a while...
My first reaction, probably not my rational thinking in play here, but, Mike Stoops. This would be awesome. He has ties back to the school, he has experience as a Head Coach, and he is well liked and respected.
The issue with this is that he is in a good position in Arizona, and I do not think we would go from Bob to Mike.
My next impulse was Mike Leach, but lets be honest, who wants him?
My final thought would be Brett Venebales, and to me this seems like the best option for OU. Jackie Ship would probably go to DC and also maintain his position coaching duty. The only question in this hire would be who is the Linebacker coach?
