one of the GREATEST Headcoaches in all of the football world!!!

Thanks Smuck...I mean Zook for getting the Florida job!!!

- NCGatorBait - 10-07-2002 05:14 AM

Nut..show some class bro...Zook has taken over a new program and has to hire basically all new coaches, install all new systems, recruit in only 2 weeks!! Not to mention the toughest schedule on the country...but then again who else has played 2 top 4 teams and beat one on the road?? Not too shabby...we'll be back!!

- Hornsounder - 10-07-2002 06:52 AM

GatorBait,
Florida does NOT have the toughest schedule in the nation, so you can out that one away. No offense to Ole Miss, but they are not exactly a "power-house". Their best player on saturday was Rex Grossman. I'm pretty sure he got a game ball for completing four passes to the wrong team. Btw, those were the four worst picks I've seen in years. It looked like he was actually aiming for the defenders. It is now official that Rex is not getting the Heisman. Props to Eli Manning for being the first Manning to beat the Gators!! I'm sure that daddy and big brother are going to throw a party

cant_think_of_a_witty_name ,
I meant no offense to your team or program. I consider myself very fortunate for having had the opportunity to watch you guys beat Florida. I hope you do it every year from now on!

- cant_think_of_a_witty_nam - 10-07-2002 12:55 PM

I'm posting this to assure you no offense was taken. I was just saying Ole Miss will be a powerhouse in time.

What Peyton did at Tennessee has nothing to do with how Ole Miss fares against Florida.

Grossman is great but he and his team got beat last Saturday. I don't care if it was due to his poor performance/turnovers, special teams or the cheerleaders. . . . . . they lost!

In our over-all record vs the Gators, we now have one more victory over Fla. than they have over us with one tie. We will get over it, maybe they should.

With a little luck, maybe we will play again in Atlanta.

- NCGatorBait - 10-07-2002 03:27 PM

Hornsounder, you are right about one thing...Rex will not win the Heisman...but then again who cares it's a joke...give me W's and a NC anyday...maybe now he an settle down and shake off Saturdays bad performance!!

- Hornsounder - 10-08-2002 10:36 AM

GatorBait,
I hate to be the pessimist, but I have a feeling that Zook is going to drop at least one more game. I'm sure that Richt is licking his chops as we speak. As for FSU's chances against you, I would see how Miami does against them. Common opponent thing.

Good Luck for the rest of the season

- NCGatorBait - 10-08-2002 02:24 PM

Hornsounder...we may drop 2 more games?? UGA is looking really tough and F$U at Doak will be tough as usual, both teams are down this year, so this should be a great game! We are on a roller coaster ride...if we can put all 3 phases together we'd be a quality team, just seems every week one phase doesn't show up! Good luck for the rest of your season!

- Tombster - 10-08-2002 05:24 PM

Who else has played 2 top 4 teams?
When the season kicked off, Miami had games scheduled against UF, Tennessee, FSU, and VaTech. UF was ranked #4, FSU is ranked 9th, Tenn is ranked #10, and VaTech, is ranked #4. That's 4 games against teams in the top ten for the Canes. Can UF top that?

- Wryword - 10-08-2002 06:38 PM

Grossman had a tough time against us, but not because he was having a bad game. He can't deal with passing under pressure, and that's what we did. We put him under pressure, he got rattled, and he made some throws he ought not to have made. Bank on it that every team y'all play from here on out will try to do the same thing. Grossman's a fine thrower IF he gets the time, but he's not very mobile and he doesn't seem to be able to keep his eye on his receivers when he is having to avoid the rush and the blitz.

- Hornsounder - 10-08-2002 09:00 PM

Wryword,
You are correct in that Grossman had a bad game because you guys had him running like a virgin at a frat party, but in his defense, that O-Line has given him no time in any game. When he played us (Canes) he was on his back more than a $2 Dollar hooker on pay-day I don't blame him for playing scared. He's been getting pummeled all season.

- Gabi - 10-09-2002 01:11 PM

Wryword, I know you dont want to believe the reason Grossman played the way he did was b/c he had a "bad" day. Nobody can say for sure what happened to him that day. Our OL was better last yr but he was still knocked down. He has handled pressure all yr so to think he would cave in against Ole Miss for that reason doesnt make a lot of sense. There were plenty of times he had time to throw, and when he did he threw into double or triple coverage. He made a lot of poor decisions. It may have been overconfidence, adjusting to the new system or maybe it was the Ole Miss defense.

"I thought we did have it clicking (going into the game). Maybe that was my mistake," Grossman said. "I thought I was pretty comfortable in it and maybe I relaxed a little bit. Going into the game, I was extremely confident with our offense. I thought we were playing pretty well."
