But what King or Monarch would declare anything to do with Atlanta "Real"?

I really hope they don't use a title like that.

RE: New GSU Stadium...
I know I'm late to the party, but this is ridiculous.

ATL has a ton of infrastructure shortfalls, has one of the highest average commute times, and THIS is what they spend a billion dollars on?

As a falcons fan, yes the Dome could use a little facelift, but come on... the Dome can't even buy a buy a beer yet!!

The Braves stadium was built in '96 for the Olympics, can we expect them to level Turner Field and build a new one in the next 5 years? Why not just build it on top of the old Fulton County Stadium?

I see a bad trend forming.

Some football (soccer) clubs are called Real which means ROYAL, as in a king has claimed that football club or that club has that families blessing.

Lots of Americans think Real means the English word Real as in not fake rather than it's actual meaning of Royal or royalty.

#1 Soccer is a communist sport. Bunch of sissies.
#2 Why would I care if a city votes itself into debt? I care about Atlanta as much as I do of any other city outside of Nashville - zilch.

How are we going into debt with this project? We're using a hotel tax to fund the public part of it and the Falcons are footing the larger part of it.

Then there you go. I would probably know this if I cared more. But I don't. Hopefully Ga State doesn't get the shaft.

We won't. The framework that was approved includes us playing there. Why do you keep making ignorant comments if you don't care?

Soccer is a demanding sport. The communist sport is a joke that I used to rib my best friend in college. He was a huge futbol fan and was adamant that futbol was the REAL futbol.

On the stadium thing, I can understand the city making an investment. Look at what having just the superbowl in Dallas and Indianapolis did for their economy. It is hard for me to believe that a 20 year old stadium is bulldozer ready but I suppose that is the reality. Everyone has an opinion on retrofitting or rebuilding.

I think we all understood that it was a joke, I think we're just asking where the joke is... was communist just the degrading word you decided to use, or is there some way that you can actually, even jokingly, connect soccer to communism?

Well now I've ruined it because I have to 'splain it.

Ok, well, the stigma of it being a communist sport is a term that has been around for years. I wish I were that clever, but I'm not. Google it if you want. It is a nationalist sport. Don't know of many nations that rally their flag behind one sport. No hands rule is tantamount to regulations and bureaucracy leveling the playing field. off-sides rule - nough said.

I still think it's just a lazy American joke for a sport they don't understand.

Most ridiculous explanation I have ever heard as why someone doesnt like soccer. So now its communist AND nationalistic? American football is the sport that grew out of rugby which grew out of soccer which has been played in some form for 13 centuries. If any sport has rules tantamount to regulations and bureaucracy its American football. LOL. Lets huddle and talk this over for 40 minutes if a 60 minute game? Lets employ an official whose sole job is to look over our shoulders via instant replay? LOL. The list goes on.
