I'm not saying ODU wouldn't be a good member for CUSA/Alliance or Sun Belt. I just haven't seen anything outside the CUSA board that suggest they are a candidate for either conference

On a related note about ODU, the AD at ODU was a former AD at WKU, Dr. Wood Selig.

Hard to believe that ODU is so unknown. They were members of the Sun Belt for most of the 80s and into the 90s. I recall their last year when they had future NBA player Chris Gatling when USA beat them in the SBC tournament finals. Recently they've done well in the NCAA tournament. They're as we'll known than most Sun Belt schools, if not moreso.

I'm not even going to lie to you lol I'm not old enough to remember anything about the 80's and I didn't know what the Sun Belt was until I got to Troy.

They probably are prestigious from the way message board fans speak of them but I have never seen ODU mentioned on ESPN or CBS as an expansion hopeful. They sound a whole lot better than some of these other names being thrown out.

RE: Benson Likes Sun Belt's Position
SBC isn't necessarily the only conference adding FCS schools. The MAC just added UMass, and now we have uneven divisions in football with Temple's departure. There's probably no rush, but they may look to add 1 FCS school or even 3. Might be a little harder if the FCS conference exit fees get bumped up though. JMU, ODU and Delaware have all been bandied about on the message boards but I don't know what the guys in control think about any of that.
