We've already gone over the allotted 13, so somebody isn't coming back. Anybody know which guy isn't? For every new scholarship here on out, somebody is gone. I can't recall a roster turnover like this...I think USC Upstate did the same thing two years ago.

Looks like it worked out well for USC Upstate. This is honestly on paper our best recruiting class. Combination of getting all of our scholarships back and rebuilding. Osemhen and Turner are prob leaving if i had to take a guess.

RE: 7 scholarships...are we done here?
There are ways to bring guys back: partials, academic scholly's, grants, etc. I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers just yet. Things can change between now and the start of the year and we don't have a good idea of what is being talked about behind closed doors, unfortunately. Or, for that matter, who is going to be eligible.....

As I think Mike said in another post, the "stars" by their names in recruiting shouldn't be a guide to how good a player is/will be. Recruiting services/web sites get far too much credit for their ratings. The recruits do look pretty good on paper though and a definite step in the right direction!

No such think as a partial athletic scholarship in Division I hoops. Just pointing that one out. Its all or nothing in Division I basketball.

@ Statman101: very true. I got too busy to amend my post on that, but you are correct. Hoops at the D-I level is a "head count" sport, meaning you have 13 full and that's all. Football is done the same, no partials.

You can have partial football schollys in FCS Div. 1.

RE: 7 scholarships...are we done here?
@ GaStPanthers: You are correct to a certain degree. Monetarily speaking, a "partial" may be given. So, an in-state kid would be cheaper than an out of state kid. Also, they could receive money from other sources thereby reducing the dollar value of an athletic scholarship. OR a school might only have enough in the budget to award a partial, but it counts as a full for the purposes However, there are 85 total players allowed on scholarship.

On the other hand, FCS schools are allowed "up to 85" players with 63 full scholarship dollars available. So, Ga. Southern could give partials to several players up to 85 with the money for 63 full scholarships.
