I see the game time is 7:00. I think I ask this every year, but is that Eastern Time?

The game is being played at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center which means EST.

Here's what I see. I think we are going to stop NIU at every angle on their offense. Our defense will go to town on them. I just hope our guards can come to life. I don't see the first half of Saturday's game as a fluke.

Tonight Akron plays at Ball State and Buffalo is at Eastern Michigan. With the new format things are a bit more complicated than just pulling for West teams to beat our rivals. Especially when Kent State sits at 2-3.

This may be Akron's best shot at a loss through the West. The trouble is, it doesn't do Kent State a ton of good if Ball State rolls up 3 or 4 wins against the East. But I think you've gotta pull for Ball State in this one as the East is still up for grabs. Maybe BG and or Miami can stick it Ball State down the road.

EMU at Buffalo. Sure it would be great to see the Eagles pick off the Bulls but seeing as its a home game for Buffalo and EMU is 4-1 this game is kind of a wash in the grand scheme of things.

A realistic scenario tonight is the home teams winning and that wouldn't be bad at all.

What a shock. Streaming on MAC website doesn't work and WNIR radio (on my phone) goes to a commercial when it shouldn't.

I got the video stream working.

When I click on the "stream" link from the MAC homepage it takes me to a KSU homepage and not the live streaming like it usually does.

Damn, I wanted a shut out.

I was at the game and I like what coach did at the beginning of the second half. If you hadn't seen the first half you would have sworn Kent was losing by 25 not winning by 25. The team came out of the locker room like rigor mortis was about to set in. The first 2 possessions of th half was 4-0 in favor of NIU. At that point coach put the press on and the team seemed to snap out of it and things were fine. I am not saying they would have lost to that bunch but they seemed to be in the mood to sleep walk through the second half. The press seemed to cure the problem. Also Porrini seemed to play at a faster pace tonight. Maybe they found a couple of answers tonight. We will need to play better team to be sure however.

The other thing I learned tonight is we will never have to fear the Olympic team from Norway. They better stick to XC skiing and ski jumping.

Tough to really take anything away from this game but this is about the first time all year we didn't let off the gas at any point so that's something.

It's tough to get too critical of anything during a 90-56 win but rebounding continues to be a huge problem. Getting out rebounded 38-29 by NIU is inexcusable. The last few days I've been reading things about Kent's rebounding trouble being related to their players not physically developing due to not having a dedicated strength trainer. I'm sorry, I just don't buy that. Our guys were clearly bigger, longer, more muscular, and more athletic thing NIU's and they still out rebounded us. Unless the strength trainer can teach guys to box out it wouldn't matter much.
