The most likely final list of Troy recruits before singing day
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footba...class/2012

Good effort Silvers will be the top QB recruit in the conference but I simply face palm at the sheer amount of JUCO players in this class. I guess by signing five receivers that can run a 4.6 or faster were hoping at least two are underrated.

But on the JUCO guys no one really knows how good they are. This may turn out to be a very good class for Troy.

Obviously your coaches are looking for immediate results on the field, but that is not unusual for Troy.

Just looking at the commits shown on the online sites, it looks like most SBC teams are continuing the trend of attracting better athletes. Better athletes and better coaches should give better results.

Can’t really tell yet where ASU will end up this year in recruiting, but it hopefully it will be better than you would expect following a coaching change.

I would not say you have the best QB recruit just yet.
WKU is suppose to get 2010 4* QB DeMarcus Smith (#11 QB in nation).

The only two times I saw Jakes...he killed us. He was good enough to beat UL twice in a row.

Cajuns have Terrence Broadway 2010 4 star #5 Dual threat QB in the nation to Rivals. Transferred in last year and failed to get a hardship waiver.

He isn't a 2012 recruit he would be more so a JUCO or transfer and he isn't listed on rivals from where I'm looking he may have just been interested not committed. You guys have Brook Haacks who is a good three star though.

No team in the Sun Belt has a single 4 star recruit as of yet even FIU who is 4 star heaven.

Again if there is no commitment you cannot expect a 4 star recruit whom BCS teams are probably recruiting to actually come. Looking at rivals right now and again not a single belt team has a 4 star QB.

And people here is a very detailed spread sheet on ESPN with EVERY current Sun Belt team recruit. I was not making a homer statement by saying Troy currently has the highest rated QB recruit because he is listed as a 79 rating (one point from 4 star) and the 27th best QB recruit in the class.

What others have said about the Troy JUCO's is true to an extent if you look at that link just about all but 4 of the defensive players in this class are JUCO guys and most the offensive recruits are high school guys. I'm assuming the staff wants players to try and play now on defense.

According to 247Sports, Deon Anthony is the #2 Dual Threat Juco QB...since Silvers isn't rated by scout or rivals (only ESPN and 247), I wouldn't consider him the best in the class. This class is heavy with LBs and nickel backers. We may be going to more 3 man fronts with the addition of LBs...

I used ESPN because Rivals is more of a site that keeps up with only the top 300 or so recruits in the nation. They are only reporting Troy having 7 recruits when we are well over 20 now.

But I'm not sure your info on Deon Anthony is even slightly true no matter how much I would like to believe that. If he was the #2 anything he would be a four or five star recruit and probably not committed to us. Rivals has him listed as a 3 star recruit for the 2012 class and he isn't ranked in any category. But the fact that both of them are rated decently by recruiting services is enough to say both of them are a grab for me.

And thank god I'm not 100% we run the 4-3 right now but if we do the 3-4 may make a quick impact.

Rivals had some help and they have it pretty close. ESPN has started getting their info from Drew. Scout.com usually doesn't have TROY updated until close to signing day.

As far as the two QBs go, I look at it from more than one perspective. While you may not think that Anthony is #2 at anything, how then can you think that Silvers is the #27 QB in the class? It's all subjective and we're using other people's evaluations to come to a conclusion. We generally pick the highest rankings, as fans. Neither of us is right or wrong if we haven't done the scouting ourselves, hence the recruiting...

Makes perfect sense. You can screw up some on offense and it doesn't hurt you that much, just mainly down wise; but you mess up once on defense and it could cost any chance of a win. Sounds like the coaches have thought that out pretty well.

Terrence Broadway was a transfer from University of Houston who sat out this season for the Cajuns. He will have 3 years to play, as he did not redshirt in Houston. He was a 4 star recruit but for whatever reason was unhappy in Houston. He is from Baton Rouge.

NT has two 4* transfers coming in. An offensive lineman from Arkansas and a safety/cornerback from OU. Sure would be nice to grab 4* players out of high school.
