Anyone think a mid or low major will hire him? Can they without going on probation?

Pitino also claims he was railroaded and directs harsh words for the “board of traitors”.

I say okay. Give him his choice. He can take the North Korean Olympic team or any prison ball. Either would be a good place to do penance or start a comeback.

You all much be to young to remember Tark the Shark. Pitino will be coaching again. NCAA proved they were toothless with UNC. Unless Pitino has been proven to be involved another school will take a chance on him. Have not seen where his finger prints are involved. His is like Michael Corleone, he can never fully be connected to the crime.

I remember that towel chewing son of a gun. He was more midlife for me. I don't doubt that he'll coach again, but in all seriousness he needs to take it to the NBA.

Why, NBA coaches are irrelevant. NCAA they are gods. Why coach K never left Duke. Pro coaches will always be second to the player. Not a way to run a team.

Because Pro coaches don't have to worry about furnishing hookers, or explaining them if the players procure one, and don't have to worry about endorsements, and there is no illegal payola.04-cheers

RE: Rick Pitino: “I want to coach again. Doesn’t matter what level.”
Pitino will probably be tied up in litigation over the next couple years regarding this scandal. A lot of negative and controversial publicity will be further happening.

Hiring successful, but heavy with baggage, coaches, is not uncommon, and there are active examples currently in college basketball. Usually it is down-trodden program with resources looking for a quick fix. Some end up being great decisions, with the coach exhibiting acceptable behavior. In other situations, results are not impressive, and a few become disastrous. It is often a gamble.

Perhaps Pitino will get another opportunity to coach, college or pro. When and where will be crucial.

Rick's best spot may very well be in the NBA. Memphis will have an opening after the season. If he wants to get back to his Northeastern roots, the Nets might be a fit. They always appear to be looking to make headlines with splashy moves.

Coach P is gonna do great wherever he lands. I hope it's in the NCAA! Nothing stopping anyone from hiring him. NCAA cleared him regarding the Andre Mgee mess. According to the local paper in Louisville, he just needs to serve a 5 game suspension. Some University is gonna get a very motivated HoF coach who got railroaded. I hope we never have to play him.

UTEP is currently searching and I hope they don't even glance in his direction. Too many good young coaches that need an opportunity.
Unofficially 2 NCAA championships and 5 final 4s, although 2 have been vacated.

And cleared by the NCAA of knowledge of the infractions that cost the University that Championship and Final Four.

Athens, GA wouldn’t be a bad place for a farewell tour.

If I were Coach Pitino, I would be tempted to file legal action against the FBI regarding disclosure of evidence. Potentially costing him millions of dollars in employment and millions more in potential employment and reputation.

And if I were Pitino and had a pretty good understanding of what the FBI had discovered and what they could find out, I would shut up, settle for my money, and move on.

lol...Rick isnt going to get a big payday. Not right now. Radioactive employees typically come cheap.

Never said a big payday but more than ECU can pay. Remember when Bobby Knight was toxic but not to toxic for the TT and the B12. Not like Georgia and Miss State are power basketball schools. Look at logically, Charlotte would make more sense than ECU. Odds he can run the through the CUSA easier than getting ECU to do it in the AAC. Also, there will be openings from schools that will be losing coaches. Imagine if URI coach goes to UCONN, there are much easier rebuilds than ECU which has never been built. Personally, I think Pitt would be an ironic hire. A program that has had some success and he remains in the ACC would be fun to watch.

Also, link of UGA being interested https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/georgi...a-opening/

Bobby Knight was not as toxic as Pitino. A lot of people still respect Knight. Knight graduated his players, and no one questioned his ethics (just his temper).

Pitino has had 3 big scandals, all of which indicate he is a slimeball. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my school.

Hiring Pitino is almost guaranteeing that you'll get put on probation. Knight never even got investigated by the NCAA.

A 19-year-old can look at Pitino and separate his moral failings from his basketball genius. An 11-year-old can not.

I only count two scandals and Louisville is the only one that got the school on probation (unless you are counting UL as two separate scandals-hookers and shoes).

He's better than Petrino and his scandal didn't involve misuse of school funds and Petrino got hired at WKU before Louisville. Pitino will be picked up by someone. Maybe not P6, but someone in the next tier will go for it.

A blog article floated around the UMass Twittersphere yesterday about hiring Pitino. The idea hasn't gone over well with a number of UMass fans who seem to be against Pitino due to his scandals and "sliminess".

Oh he's a piece of filth no question. But Louisville was an awful athletic school like you guys and an awful academic school (unlike you guys) who hired him and other pieces of feces and made it to the ESPIN/cartel 5 after years of success with FB and BB HC's and AD pieces of Feces.
