Just as they start to really invest in football?
I have my doubts that it last. And they completely punt basketball.
Yeah, but they invest in football, baseball and soccer. That's 2 more sports, that also matter at ODU, than most of the belt.

Good point. I have no idea who is good in those sports.

RE: Realignment - I'm now on board
The only change I support is getting basketball to the A-10 and keeping football at the FBS level. Just too many variables/roadblocks to pull off. So, instead, we’re stuck hoping to get an offer to the AAC when realignment strikes again (which could be a while).
With that said, I like our chances to eventually get to the AAC. We’re appealing on a number of levels (athletic budget, tv market, fan attendance, recruiting market, bball facilities, etc).

ODU (2nd C-USA)

WKU (3rd C-USA)
Coastal Carolina (8th Sunbelt)

FAU (11th C-USA)
FIU (8th C-USA)
UAB (6th C-USA)
Ga Southern (3rd Sunbelt)
Ga State (2nd Sunbelt)
Troy (6th Sunbelt)
I would say adding those teams would help basketball and football. We are getting 2 of the top 3 bball teams from the sunbelt
That conference is awful though.
I don't see where it is any worse than what we are in.
CUSA has 4, maybe 5 better teams than the 2nd best Sunbelt team. And it pretty much drops off from there. 8 of the 12 teams are >200 or worse.
I don't understand what you are saying. You are correct about CUSA, but all the good teams are included in this scenario. Then we add lesser teams that are just as good as the ones they replace, and sprinkle a little better geography in there.
You could make an argument that this proposal is not great for football, though.
It would be if you could add Temple and East Carolina. :)

Most of these ideas likely send Marshall begging to be back in the MAC. Which makes all the east divisions FCS 2.0. If that happens we may as well be in the CAA playing for championships.

RE: Realignment - I'm now on board
Realignment will be triggered by a P5 conference and schools affected will fill in the gaps. Nevertheless, these fantasy threads are fun to participate in.
