RE: Basketball transfers
Man, if we had the money, this would be the time to find another coach, if we're losing players anyway.
I'm guessing this wasn't in the scouting report.

RE: Basketball transfers
Ridiculous. Monty was as bad as the guys before him. Accomplished nothing, over a longer time period, and will leave the program in absolute shambles anyway.

Basketball transfers
800 transfers in college basketball was the quote I heard yesterday. 40% of MBB. Quiting is the new normal.

800 transfers would be roughly 15% of players transferring. NIU may have 40%. The program is garbage and I feel bad for anyone that has invested in it.

Even a dumpster fire has to look at the MBB program and think “damn that’s a mess!”
If this is true spotlight goes squarely on STF and see how big his stones are.

Let's see who actually leaves. If big-minutes guys leave then yeah, time to start over. If a couple of freshmen and backups leave I would say that happens every year on every team.

We might want to know why the players are leaving too?

25-40% of players leaving after the 7th year of a HC is not something that happens every year

German would be leaving because he can play at a big time school. Anybody else would be leaving because they don’t like Monty or are unhappy with minutes. I’m going to guess Geno is leaving and the Monty will be fired! It’s bad guys!

It makes a lot of sense. When nobody is passing the ball to you, why stick around.
How can NIU lead the nation in the fewest assist per game?

Really how much worst can it get? We have hit the bottom.
Can we go from 500 fans a game to 400?

Well I guess someone has to finish last. Monty has been here 7 years and recruited statistically speaking, the most selfish team in the nation. Losing half of this team to transfer would not necessarily be a bad thing if it meant being able to rebuild under a more competent head coach.

Fire Monty already and hire a real coach with some real Chicago ties...Monty has a habit of making players want to leave, and pushing out quality players that want to stay.

RE: Basketball transfers
And I don’t care if they were good kids, bad kids, playing, not playing, injured—whatever.....off the top of my head in the past couple of years: Bowie, Highsmith, Maric, Pauga, Wilson, Porter......gone, gone, gone....... 222 has a sense about hoops the way Randy has about football.....if, and I will wait until IF, it’s a combo that includes Geno.....it’s long past the time for Frazier to pack his bags.
This is not a talent issue. This is not a coaching issue. This is a CULTURE issue.

+100 this is a hot mess. For every 1 step forward, there’s been 10 steps backwards. At this pace we will for sure be the worst basketball program in the nation.

As long as Monty is gone I'll consider it a necessary step in the right direction.
