Greensboro's only attraction is the fact it's practically a home game for the NC4, if the city were 50 miles west they'd hate it too since it's just a bigger version of Columbia, SC without the world class zoo and Live PD.

Concur. The reason I like those 3 sites is that they are all metropolitan type of sites with large airports. There is great history in Greensboro, but Charlotte, Brooklyn, and DC make more sense with the addition of the newer teams.

Be honest, you also like it because it's much closer to Clemson, SC. Proximity is why I like Greensboro or Raleigh.

I prefer Charlotte because I've been to Greensboro & Raleigh. There's absolutely no comparison.
Raleigh (things to do, restaurants, atmosphere etc.) beats Charlotte and Greensboro hands down, but you can't have it in the same city as one of the schools.

I live in Raleigh. You must be joking.

Greensboro for sure, but Charlotte not so much. Does PNC arena have 7,000 plus hotel rooms within a 15 minute walk or less not to mention the 300 plus bars, restaurants& atleast 14 craft breweries surrounding Uptown. You could stay as far out as the Concord Mills area since it will provide shuttle service to the blue line. Neither Greensboro or Raleigh currently provide the type of mobility options Charlotte does period

People that live in a particular place tend to be overly critical and not very objective regarding their city. There is a much better appreciation of the offering when you look at it from the outside.

ACC Tournament
If Louisville is good enough to make it in as a Forbes top 10 city to visit then it certainly is good enough to host the ACCT. Just sayin.

https://amp.courier-journal.com/amp/3881...ssion=true

We've seen the signs: Resurgences in neighborhoods surrounding our downtown, cranes dotting our skyline, history coming back to life on Whiskey Row, shows like "Top Chef" picking us before so-called buzzy cities like Cincinnati and Indianapolis.

The magazine asked "high-end travel designers" to name the places they'd send their clients. These are the people who typically lean on travel agents to plan their "once-in-a-lifetime experiences."

What's even more amazing is that the blurb about Louisville — which the magazine lists first — is that it doesn't even mention the Kentucky Derby.

Instead, it tells travelers to stay at the "storied Brown Hotel" and 21C hotel for its amazing art. It tells them to check out the food scene and immerse themselves in our "good vibes."

It also suggests a "must-see" stop at the nearby Bulleit Bourbon distillery. Because, well, bourbonism is a thing.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/annabel/201...678bbb663b

Louisville

“Louisville is all about good times and good vibes, with vibrant music and art, and a burgeoning food and drinks scene, all characterized by notable southern hospitality,” says Tom Marchant, the co-founder and owner of Black Tomato. It’s also home to some excellent places to stay, from the storied Brown Hotel to the buzzy 21c boutique hotel that also serves as a contemporary, multi-venue art museum. “You can get to the heart of a city by looking at its drinking culture,” he continues. Kentucky is bourbon country, and “the nearby home of Bulleit Bourbon at Stitzel-Weller Distillery is a must-see.”

Sorry, it's an unnatural competitive advantage for championships to be held in home cities unless you are on Tobacco Road.

Which ACC school apart from Louisville would vote to hold the tournament in Louisville? I'd say the number would be somewhere between 0 and 0.

I don't think there is a significant difference between hotel, restaurant, entertainment, between Raleigh and Charlotte. My point is that people aren't going to do much walking so whether you can walk 15 minutes to get to your hotel or not doesn't seem to make any differences. There are hotels everywhere in Raleigh. I'm just sayin'.

Never said there waa much difference other than more options closer to the arena along with more mobility oprions for those who choose to stay further out. The fact is we have fans with different levels of expectations of what they view as important in a host city. Some are more accustomed to having multiple options in terms of lodging, & entertainment that's easily accessible, & some where that's not as important. Charlotte offers a good compromise to both

You mean you don't like Wendy's? That's about all that's close to PNC Arena.

You could always advertise promotions for strippers and booze for teenagers as an attraction. Louisville could be the new Pigeon Forge type of resort for strippers for teens.

One of the Florida schools would sign up.

Which ACC school apart from Louisville would vote to hold the tournament in Louisville? I'd say the number would be somewhere between 0 and 0.

Maybe. I could see Syracuse & ND voting on haven't here on an occasion. I don't ever see it happening though.

Nor do I.

You mean you don't like Wendy's? That's about all that's close to PNC Arena.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by close. Chances are you aren't staying at a hotel that's nearby, so the question is what kind of restaurants are near (or in) your hotel. Then, plan on driving to the stadium, because there aren't great public transportation opportunities other than park and ride shuttle buses. By the time you get to the parking area for the shuttle, you might as well just keep driving to the arena.

Then again, I don't recall Greensboro being much better, but maybe it has improved since I was there last. One thing Raleigh has going for it is that 20% of the fans will return to their homes after the games every day, so there won't be as much demand for what hotels and restaurants are within driving distance.

The NC State Fairgrounds are across the street from the PNC Arena. They're building a pedestrian underpass now. If the ACC Tournament comes to Raleigh, I guarantee that there will be plenty of food and drink options available very close by. If nothing else, I can assure you we really do food truck rodeos exceptionally well in this area but there are also fixed restaurant locations at the Fairgrounds as well as lots of room for all sorts of food and drink options.

Nothing more exciting than a $8 foot long corndog and a $7 elephant ear.
