If we end up a 2 or 3, I am hoping Kansas is our 2 or 3 in our region. They just seem like the most beatable team and best match up for us. I also would like to get X as 1, that would be amazing. Being on the opposite end of the bracket as Villanova and Virginia would also make me happy.

RE: CBS Bracketology 2/6/18
Honestly, I can't argue much at the top. I like Auburn and Kansas more than Clemson as far as resumes go. UC as the second 3 seed seems completely reasonable to me at this point.

The top 3 one seeds are no brainers and are likely to still be on selection Sunday.

The 4th one seed is going to be a crap shoot and there is the potential for there to be a ton of volatility there up to selection Sunday. As of today, Xavier certainly has a resume good enough to claim it.

I think Clemson is a hair to high. I think Auburn and Kansas have the best resumes of the two seeds based on the stated selection criteria. I think the other two seeds and the four 3 seeds are fairly interchangeable in their resumes. I think there is a decent drop off after Texas Tech.

I'd rather be a 4...seems like 6 is consistently one of the most underseeded lines every year. I could be wrong, but I think I'd feel better as a 4 vs 5 than a 3 vs 6 in the second round... Generally speaking.

Also, if we drop more than 2 games before the end of the regular season I'm afraid our resume will come under serious scrutiny. I think right now our range is anywhere from a 2-7 seed...Though I think I'll feel equally confident if we make it past the first round irregardless of which seed we end up with.

Have you seen Clemson or Auburn play this year? Auburn looks legit, based on what they've done but haven't seen them play. I know Clemson just lost one of their best players (Grantham), so not sure if they will be able to maintain down the stretch. I wouldn't mind getting paired up with Clemson.

Not me. And risk getting a matchup with Nova in the S16? Nah

I feel Clemson will fall off some. They aren't as good a team w/o Grantham, and they are not deep. I think hot shooting since the Gratham injury (I think they hit 15-30 from deep and just held on against UNC) has covered that up for now.

A Cincinnati-Virginia Elite Eight would be one of the least watchable games in the history of the NCAA tournament from an entertainment level perspective 03-lmfao

Would be a lot like our Second Rd. matchup against FSU a few years back.

I don't subscribe to the theory that elite defense is bad basketball but that game would probably have an over/under of 105.

Notice I didn't say anything about it being bad basketball, just not an entertaining/up-and-down type game that most people like watching. I personally would love to see how our defense stacks up.

I'm with you. Even more... I don't think its less entertaining basketball. I love watching the work Virginia does on the defensive end and they are under appreciated in the way they run offense just because they play slow.

This UC team in particular has played defense at a different level than even the past great UC defenses. It's a joy to watch. There are different styles of basket that can all be entertaining.

This is why I enjoy college basketball. So many different styles, and March Madness is like a melting pot. There is so much more involved with coaching at this level than almost any sport. This is why you can have a team of 3 stars like Virginia dominate a 5 star laden Duke team. I think there are some purists that don't like the contrasting styles and want college basketball to look like a less talented version of the NBA.

Count me in as someone who would enjoy seeing two of the best defenses (best ever statistically?) tangle if UC and UVA meet. Let's just meet them the second or third weekend.

No way I want to be a 4. I'd rather avoid the Big 3 until as late as possible. We are right there with the 2 and 3 seeds, so that seems like a better match-up to try and get to the Final 4.

Joe Lunardi Senior Writer, ESPN.com

TUE HEADLINES: Xavier must win at Butler, otherwise Auburn is next in line for a No. 1 seed. Cincinnati is next in line for a No. 2 seed if either Michigan State or Kansas loses. Boise State could drop out with a loss at New Mexico, making way for (gulp!) Syracuse.
