Remaining Conference Schedule - What Ya Got?
Unreal. How fast the season goes. There are now only 8 games remaining in the conference slate. Here they are:

UCF
@ SMU
@ Houston
WSU
UConn
Tulsa
@ Tulane
@ WSU

Cats are 10-0 in conference play. I feel we will finish 6-2 with road losses at either SMU, Houston or WSU. We will not lose at home this year. That puts our conference win total at 16-2 and overall record at 27-4. What say you?

I would agree with this scenario. UC may steal a win in one of those two road games and suffer an unexpected upset somewhere else, but 6-2 would be a reasonable expected result... and no one complains if they win out.

I think uc slips up once. 7-1... they'll be fighting for a 2 seed in the conference tournament.

I cannot stand the thought of blemishing our 30-2 record against Houston. One loss at Wichita. Smu does not have the fire power. I worry about a let down at Tulane or something crazy like that.

At first, I thought you were implying that -UC- will be fighting for a 2 seed in the conference tournament. You're referring to UH and WSU, right?

I get how you read it like that. I meant that uc will be in the conference tournament fighting for a 2 seed in the ncaa tournament.

I actually feel pretty good about the Houston game. I think we survived pretty much them playing at their highest level. I like our chances to be focused and put on a defensive clinic down there.

They talked about this on the Skinny Podcast and I agree; if we punch UH in the mouth early down there, it will be a huge psychological hurdle for the Cougars to overcome given how the last game played out.

Conversely, if we start out slow and give them optimism it will be a long night.

Houston hit a ton of contested jump shots against us. That devon davis put on a mid range clinic. If they hit all those jump shots like they did before, they will be tough to beat. If they shoot like a normal % we will win by a dozen.

RE: Remaining Conference Schedule - What Ya Got?
I could see 7-1 or 6-2. I’m less worried about Houston now that we know their game plan is beat on us with every available foul in the post.

I think we lose at WSU and could still see us lose at SMU despite their injuries.

My low probability possible WTF loss would be at Tulane. They jack up so many 3s in that shoebox they play in if they got unconsciously hot it could be a headache.

Do we not have any good UC-only podcasts? I can't stand listening to that norwood tool, not only is he an idiot his voice is just cringe.

---BUMP---

I posted this after our road win at UConn two weeks ago with 8 games left and I felt 6-2 was the mark to finish out the regular season. Some folks agreed and a few said 7-1. With the road loss at Houston both scenarios are still possible. For the hand wringers...buck up! Breathe and relax. Inhale. Pause. Exhale. Relax. Repeat 5 more times. We have 5 games left and the next 3 are at home. We still have a 2 game lead and WSU and Houston have the following remaining games (they have targets on their backs as well):

WSU
@Natti
Tulane
@SMU
@UCF
Natti

UH
@Temple
@Memphis
ECU
@SMU
UConn
