They nearly beat them last year. I think plenty of team will be surprised by Chicago State this year.

Chicago State playing a close game with UVU. UTRGV is keeping pace with GCU. Looks like tonight is a night of close games.

Dancing... we get it. We lost to the best team in the conference. You have the best athletes and the future player of the year. I think nearly any Canyon fan would concede those points. However, An 11 point loss doesn’t mean the season is over or that our team isn’t still on the radar. Remember that the game was still a two possession game late into the second half.
So, that being said, even though Chicago played a tough and close game at Seattle, remember that we actually beat the RedHawks by 16 in Seattle. I think it’s early to begin saying Canyon will lose to the bottom team.

Runners are leading the Aggies by 5 late in the first half. I haven't been watching this game since I'm watching GCU and UTRGV; for the fans following this game... is this a night where NMSU is struggling, or is CSUB just finally waking up?

UVU is looking very, very good this season. They're up 24 on Chicago State. Exceeding early season expectations, but definitely solidly establishing themselves as a strong contender this season.

No flow to the game. Lots of fouls and turnovers by the Aggies

UVU beats CSU 83-58. UVU didn't win by 30 so teams playing CSU beware.

Raider, Dancing is just trying to get your goat. At times, he is not very good winner (there are a few NMSU fans on this board like that). It is best to ignore them because civility does not work when their team is on a roll. Just my opinion.

I do think that CSU can upset some of the top/middle teams this season. They have played pretty solidly especially in the first half. Still looking forward to seeing how well GCU does well in the WAC tournament.

No. I'm being serious. GCU historically has played bad at Chicago State. NMSU is better than every team in the conference. Can they lose to any of them on any given night? Of course. However, even on a bad night our talent coupled with a very good coaching staff overcame a gritty CSUB team. They have size and athletes that GCU does not have. Anyway, mark it down, Chicago State over GCU.

Have we forgotten that CSU hasn't beat a D1 team ALL season??? Besides Fred Sims, there's not much there. I was at the UVU/CSU game tonight and UVU was sleepwalking until CSU took the lead halfway through the first and then went full throttle. I would be SHOCKED if CSU does better than 2-12 in conference play.

To be fair, CSU has been playing fairly well in conference play this season. They lead NMSU for a good part of the first half, nearly knocked off SU, and were pretty close with UVU the first half. They should at least win 4 conference games this time around. Maybe even make it to the semi finals of the WAC tournament. We shall see though.

Was at another event, so didn't see any of it. CSUB in down year, which the severity of was highly speculated all off season, as most all of you know. Combine that with Wrapp's recent illness (this week) and Durham's issues (??)
The second-half funk is what really concerns me the most. Is it a conditioning issue? Motivational? Have no idea.

They sure did. I was just pointing out that UVU has had pretty good success so far against conference opponents. 33 point win over CSUB. 40 point win over UMKC. 25 over CSU. Wouldn’t have thought this would happen back about two months ago.

Late last March, during post season play, I predicted UVU would be better than CSUB and probably be right on the heels of NMSU and GCU for this season. There were those who were saying Barnes was too good a coach to allow CSUB to drop bellow the top three; let alone bellow UVU. But after watching last year's semi finals (UVU take CSUB to 4OTs), I saw the writing on the wall. CSUB lost way too much leadership in Basile, Airington, Smith and Pride. And, UVU was only going to get better with the additions of Akolda Manyang and Jake Toolson. However, I didn't expect UVU to be as good as they are now. And, I didn't expect CSUB to drop as far down as they have currently.
Of course all of my speculation was before NMSU's unforeseen coaching change. I expected NMSU to be the best team in the WAC this season; but with a different head coach and having a player of Zach Lofton's caliber was yet to be in NMSU's future.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of this season plays out.

I feel like I have to apologize for us NMSU fans. I appreciate that everyone has been very complimentary about the Aggies and Lofton. I'm not sure why our response to flattery is to trash talk.

Halftime 40-21 GCU by 19. Gonna be a massive comeback by CSU for your "mark it down" prediction to come true.
