True. If few teams get invited we could be next, fau first but we're on that list after.

I would take FIU and their 55k students before NIU. That’s a lot of potential cash!

RE: NY6 Game Thread
What's fau enrollment? Lane and Boca Raton Florida money. Take both. If they get 3 or 4 in we have a shot but conference USA or Sun belt have better stadiums and attendance too.

I'm not even sure if we're on AAC level yet. Our stadium is one of worst in nation.

Both fiu and fau have legit fbs coaches and great recruiting turf. They have natural and created advantages.

Just depends on who gets poached. If both USF and ucf then you're probably right. However if it's Memphis or Houston and UCF then maybe we have a shot. Not a sure thing or as good a possibility as it used to be but we'd have a shot. We still wouldn't have a natural rival.

We would need alot poached and then we can get in AAC. Toledo would go before so maybe they'll want to bring both. There is rivalry.

Honestly I went to niu and root for MAC and I really didn't know Toledo was a rivalry until I read it on here. Mainstream fans think all games are the conference games are the same, and want to win as many games as possible. Sorry to disappoint.

You have to bet against trends. I knew saban would win when they kept flashing saban was 0-3 in sugar bowl and hard to beat him twice in a row. He's a genius. Has anyone beat him twice in a row?

RE: NY6 Game Thread
The Championship gave clear indication that Freshman QBs can play, even on the biggest stage. Not sure if Saban’s QB switch at half has any parallel to Carey’s QB decision during the year, but Carey had to feel good about Saban’s “genius and guts” to make that halftime move. Sometimes the best decisions are not the obvious ones. Last nights game did highlight the importance of throwing the deep ball. It is interesting that Fromm (Georgia QB) in a losing effort went 16-32 2 INTs 1TD 232 passing yards, and is being praised as having a great game, and the projected as the next dominant QB in college football. Santa in a losing effort to SDSU goes 24-39 3 INTs 3 TDs 269 yards passing and is all but benched for the season.

I think you saw some of the freshman QB downside on full display as well. Both those deep sacks in OT were terrible plays by the qbs. Even the game tying td by Tua was a bit of luck, as he was keyed in on the RB 22 who was blanketed, but Ridley "intercepted" the pass for the td. Could have easily been a Georgia defender. Fromm choked on that big 3rd down play on a wide open WR. But it's interesting to compare the situations. Georgia and bama have great defenses and running games, relatively mac speaking, so did NIU. Is Hurts like Childers? Not the greatest passer and just an average runner? Again, relatively speaking. But Tua could make a big play when needed....sort of like Santa?

I thought Fromm was only decent last night. His Oline was darn good and his RBs are incredible. That's a young qbs best friend. The announcers kept pushing their fabulous freshman saga on us to make drama. He was good last night, not great. But his upside is obvious.

Now Fromm will have to fight for starting spot against the Nation's #1 Dual Threat QB in the Class of 2018, Justin Fields.

I'd just red shirt fields but they may put him some packages. Eason is going to Washington. No surprise there.

I agree. Lol. Goodie looking guy. Maybe too pretty for Football. His play reminds me a lot of what Jordan Lynch looked like. It was like watching Jordan Lynch against Florida State. Good coaching move by Saban to pull him.

I was shocked he made switch. He wouldn't have lasted as starter past this year regardless. He should have never won their starting job and saban finally figured out that he would never win championship with him.
