And, of course JT4 is BSU's MVP once again...
Your goons know how to get under his skin. Kudos. I don't think he's had a T all year until today.
Whitford owns Murphy, that's for sure.
Hilarious thinking of BSU's guys as goons. All I hear from our fans is how soft our bigs are. Hmm...
I fully expect a tough game at Ypsi. There's a lot of nice parts on that team, as well as a challenging defensive style. Really impressed with Minnie, Jackson, Bond. If they can put it together over the course of the season, EMU will be a tough out in Cleveland.

Can ESPN flex the Buffalo-Ball State game this Saturday onto one of their stations? It might be one of the best matchups in the conference all year. Very excited to see what UB can do on the road against the hottest team in the league.

My view is that BSU in Muncie beats everyone except Duke, MSU, 'Nova, etc. (Okay, they aren't coming which is why I can make that statement ).
I really wished that the game last night was in Ypsi so we had a better chance to start the season 1 - 0.

RPI
Atlantic 10: .5077 (rank: 10)
MAC: .5019 (rank: 11)
Big difference in SOS but not much in RPI. Interesting.

I don't think Murphy can coach. He recruits great talent, but his teams never do that well.

Didn't realize the Broncos had a 6 game losing streak to Akron going into last night.

You ought to see BSU's streak against Akron and Kent. It's been like 10 years straight....

I think it's more hilarious that your fans think they're soft. Maybe Thompson brings out the best in them, as I haven't watched any other BSU games. But Moses and Teague were wayyyy more physical than anyone else we've played this season, outside of the P5 teams.
Thompson also got more calls in the OOC games than he did last night, but it was disappointing to see him blow up again. He had done a great job showing restraint all season. Oh well. On to the next game.

It's only 1 game in but I fully expect the MAC to beat up on each other this year with no clearly superior team. Toledo was locked in a tight game with the MACs best team UB. KENT has been a huge disappointment. CMU blew out OU but they were short handed.

Yea I could see NIU beating somebody we shouldn't beat, and then losing to pretty much anyone on other nights.

If you read the game thread for last night on overthepylon (BSU fan board), the primary running theme of the thread is about how soft Teague and Moses played in the game... I guess different perspectives...

Sounds like they think they're soft on offense, which might be a fair claim. I remember Franko House and Bo Calhoun eating us up around the basket the last couple of years. But your two bigs did a good job defensively yesterday. Lots of physicality, clutching, grabbing. Got under Thompson's skin. Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer would be proud.

Lots of streaks are going to be broken in regards to Akron this season.

Our radio pbp guy mentioned twice that Dambrodt didn’t have them playing like he had in years past.

That's funny. But probably not to Mr. John Groce.
BTW, Akron is 0 - 2 and faces Buffalo Tuesday. Not good.

The Zips only lost by 2 at Toledo last night. They will be tough at home.

I'll believe it when I see it. We'll be lucky to go 7-11 this year.
I still think Groce is an average-at-best coach that lucked into getting DJ Cooper while at Ohio.

EMU loses at home to BG. Pretty embarrassing. Trending toward another underachieving MAC season for us.

So do you think the AD was kinda dumb to hire him?
