Frost takes UCF to the Peach Bowl and the win
Hypothetical of the day...
Frost stays for the NY6/BCS game and wins
Fleck stayed and lost
Any chance we win that Orange Bowl with DD on the sidelines vs the stands?

RE: Frost takes UCF to the Peach Bowl and the win
FSU was a better team than Auburn and Wisconsin, but we probably still lose. But we will never sniff that type of success again with Carey at the helm. We only scored 14 points against a 6-6 team. Pathetic...

I agree that FSU was a great team. Maybe we would have been closer but who knows. Definitely not an easy ask of Carey to be head coach for his first game in that atmosphere. Maybe he would have been more comfortable with Doeren running the show and him calling plays. Players could have done the whole send off with a win like Frost today. Doeren admits he regrets it but I'm not sure if he had the choice or not.

Frost probably stayed only to get his bonuses--undefeated season, coach in a NY6 bowl, win a NY6 bowl.

Plus Nebraska wanted him so bad they were more willing to agree to his terms. I don't think Doeren was that coveted by NC State.

Ding ding we have a winner. His bonuses is chump change compared to what he is making per year at nebraska. Frost had all the leverage where as They would have moved onto the next guy on the list.

Still a bunch of crap when a coach and (some, even most) staff leave a team high for a bowl. I think it's BS and if a coach had dedication, strong ties to that school he stays. I don't believe the "stronghold" vs. "coach in demand, holding the cards." Frost and Doeren were at their respective schools 2 yrs. IMO, one guy cared about the school he was at and players and the others 1st name is Dave.
I hope more coaches take the Frost approach and it turns into results for their team in a major bowl.

Yea I liked Doeren but was annoyed that he stayed at Wisconsin for their Rose Bowl as a coordinator but didn't stay at NIU for the Orange Bowl as HC.

I agree with Randy. Hopefully, this becomes a trend.
When it was announced that Frost would coach UCF in the Peach Bowl, it was highly controversial among football fans in Florida. Count me among the skeptics. But, no matter which side you were on, it was pretty much unanimous that Frost convinced UCF (and Nebraska) to let him coach in the Peach Bowl for one reason. He felt he owed it to the team to finish the job. Props to Frost for doing the right thing.

Brian Kelly I think left Central Michigan and I know he left Cincinnati before a bowl game. I remember Cincinnati was left high and dry as he ran to Notre Dame. He could not abandon Cincinnati any faster.

Maybe I'm jaded and a skeptic but frost stayed because it would help his image for recruiting. It may have not been his only reason but it was a reason for sure.

There's another one from the ranks proving my every coach has a little scumbag in them theory. Rich rod just got canned.

Door opens perfectly for Sumlin there. They wanted to get rid of rich rod a year ago when they didn’t do well

I was thinking mike Norvell. I was surprised he didn't get the call up this season. Him and latrell at north Texas and kiffin will be next few to bolt.
I live in college station. They no likey sum down here. I was never a fan either . I think taggert will follow same path as sumlin and strong did . One promotion too much.

Arizona's AD, Dave Heeke, is the former AD at CMU. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go after Candle at Toledo.

I would think he would look at Butch Jones.
