He did not have a concussion and was pissed they took away his pads and helmet. He has passed protocol and is likely to practice today. Don't know if he will play on Sunday in Indy and it will suck if I go there to 12 degree weather and he doesn't play. Should know more tomorrow. O'Brien praised his poise and play in his weekly interview on the Houston Texans website.
That was great news to hear that Taylor did not suffer what would be at least his second concussion this year. I hope that he is doing well and will get to see some action in the upcoming game against the Colts.

Now it seems like the doctors are covering their butts and saying that he hasn't cleared protocol even though no actual concussion. So, Texans signed Josh Johnson. Looks like I will not be braving the frigid temperatures in Indy after all. Very frustrating.

Well they completely screwed the Savage concussions and are probably covering up for letting him back on after he squirmed around on the field with his arms flailing....
seems like Texans might not deserve Heinicke!

Yeah, that sucks! Here's the video of O'Brien for the quote in the article. Fast forward to 14:55.

The Texans GM told his agent that Taylor is still the backup QB, but they signed Josh Johnson as a precaution in case concussion symptoms appear later this week, as has been the case with our players in the league. Taylor participated in the walk through practice today. Unfortunately, I think this means that Taylor will not start and won't play unless Yates gets hurt again or maybe if he stinks up the field again. If Taylor did not take that hit, he probably plays well the rest of the Steelers game and gets the start at Indy. More unfortunate luck for the kid. At least if O'Brien stays in Houston, Taylor should be QB2 behind Watson next year.

Not sure about video since he handed it off a couple times, made one 10 yard pass, and got sacked.
Contract details that I found (could be wrong) is 1 year for $615,000 with the Texans. It says his base salary and cap hit is $108,529.
His estimated cash earnings in 3 seasons in the NFL total to $1,034,858. Again, don't know how accurate that is. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texan...cke-17249/

Great news, Cal. Thanks for keeping us updated. TH is just a really great guy and heck of a QB that deserves the chance to get on the field. I could not want more for him than I do for my own kids. Pass along to him that there are a lot of us pulling for him. Cheers!

O'Brien has said that he sees Taylor as the long term no. 2 QB behind Watson. Good news that O'Brien appears to be staying. I believe Yates will get cut and Savage will probably go elsewhere as a free agent.

Good point. I just made my reservations to be at the Super Bowl with the Lovato family. Prices are outrageous but wouldn't miss it.

Who would have guessed Lavato would be the first Monarch to play in a super bowl? Nice, guess I'm pulling for the birds!
