Almost bought a place at Lake Norman. When the deal fell fell through, I was looking around Brevard. Lived in NC some as a young kid, I'm part Cherokee. Boone area is really nice.

Downtown toledo is making quite a turnaround.

When I went to the WMU game after thanksgiving and stayed downtown, I was quite impressed.

Boone is a pretty sweet place to explore. Little small, but it's as you say. I live a couple of hours east and always enjoy a trip up to the high country. Congrats on the win. No excuses from this Rocket fan, y'all kicked us square in the brown eye.

We don’t consider ourselves head and shoulders above ConfUSA or SunBelt. Do we have years where we wish some of our teams competed in a P5 conference in order to possibly get a higher rated bowl? Of course. Toledo along with NIU and WMU have been getting more national respect because of 10 wins or more seasons which leads to talks of going to a P5 conference which leads to eventually a letdown to bring us back to reality. Toledo fans have no problem playing SunBelt teams. You’re making stuff up.

Did you not read comments and articles coming from Toledo folks leading up to the game? Nothing but disrespect for App. Those quotes were posted everywhere in the App State Athletics Center. Our kids did not lack for motivation.

Well, if that's true, then shame on Toledo then. One rule of Bowl Season and March Madness is that you don't publicly gripe about your opponent and/or game location. Recipe for disaster. Especially when the MAC has usually been lousy in bowl seasons.

NIU's HC didn't hide his distain for having to go to Detroit for a bowl (not that I blame him, 0 degree wind chills don't scream "touristy", but still). Hope their players are 'up' for the game.
