No one likes to be the dead weight and that is what we are. Fans don't like it and are pushing for change. I can imagine this isn't the Charlotte 49ers athletic program that CUSA brass thought it was bringing in.
So I listened to the interview, twice. Dubois is constantly deflecting the serious questions and giving excuses like "Mens soccer is doing great" or "Judy just started up women's golf". News flash Dubois, you could be winning conference championships and maybe even a national championship in those other sports and no one will care for more than a day. Coastal Carolina won a national title in baseball (arguably the 3rd most important sport) and most people would never know that. Those other sports are just there to create an athletic spectrum for schools to compete at multiple sports, but the reality is that they are at the end of the spectrum. Football and basketball are what bring fans together, plain and simple. They are the reason you would drive 10+ hours to go to a bowl game. Shell out tons your own money on donations, tailgating, merchandise, tickets, etc. to show pride in your school and just for a hope that your team will be great some day. Its true that despite all this, some teams will struggle. But when they do you have to make changes to show the fans that you are not complacent and actually care about your program. I get that starting a football program is not an easy task especially at this level. However it really cant get any worse, Charlotte football has been basically the worst team in FBS for 4 years and its not getting better an time soon. Its time to move on from Lambert, and give someone else a shot. As an ODU alum, some are arguing for Bobby Wilders firing and he just went 5-7 with more injuries than I have ever seen on a team. I could not imagine going 1-11, but I do know that he would be fired if he did despite having a great record to this point and being one of the best startups in college football history. So what has Brad Lambert done to retain his job? I have no idea. College football and basketball are ugly businesses sometimes but that is reality. It seems like Judy Rose and Dubois are not in touch with reality. I hope one day Charlotte can field great programs in basketball and football, ODU and Charlotte will most likely be in the same conference for a long time. I am really hoping yall make some changes and can get back what you once had.

Well said.
Charlotte turning this around is good for CUSA. Let's hope we're in a position to do that soon under new leadership.
Good luck to you guys in getting things fixed. I would advise you to take a look at what happened at UAB after the football shutdown. We held meetings and rallys with the students, alumni, and interested fans, and did our best to get on the news. We held a candlelight march on the basketball game, with all involved wearing black, and chanted through the game. Hell, anytime the visiting team went to the foul line we were chanting "Fire Ray Watts" - our not-so-beloved punkinheaded President. The students marched through campus, down the middle of the busiest street in downtown Birmingham, to the admin building and then held rallies in the streets in front for days. We had members of the marching band playing, cheer team members, you name it. Again, media coverage. Call her office and get as many others to as possible. E-mail her and the Ad and whoever else. Write real physical letters. It's easy to blow off a full e-mail inbox, but a big sack of paper mail makes an impression, especially on a non-tech type like her. We raised Cain in the Faculty Senate, and pushed through several votes of no confidence. I don't know how strongly your faculty will be engaged in this, that might be a non-starter. If you can get a few local media types on your side that goes a long way toward increasing coverage and bringing it back up when things get quiet.
Use social media. Start a couple of Facebook groups and use them to add volunteers and to schedule and organize. Get anyone interested to reply to the comments in the local newspaper. Create and spread memes. You have to keep the pressure up and never relent. Make the administration wonder what's going to happen to them today.
You can do this if the campus and alumni are truly outraged and willing to make the commitment. You just have to be willing to make a big damn stink and refuse to relent.

I get that Lambert is on a lava-filled futon right now, and based on what I've seen, he should be on the first thing smoking out of town. But is the Mark Price experiment already a bust, or is that still a work in progress? I remember a lot of enthusiasm for the hire and it wasn't THAT long ago.

Price is getting a break to be honest from fans because of the Judy Rose/Brad Lambert stuff.

Worst team in FBS this year? Probably. 4 years. No. We just completed year 3 in FBS. Also, We went 4-8 in 2016 including road wins at usm and Marshall. Not sure how we could be considered the worst last year, probably not even in year 1(2015) since we beat a bowl team on the road that year.

Ok since 2015 because that is when you moved to FBS. You are 7-29, tied for 2nd to last in FBS with Texas State and Oregon St. The only team with a worse record is Kansas at 3-33 since 2015. If you had to play Texas State, Kansas or Oregon St I think they would be favored in all the games. I'd say it doens't get much worse than that.

Price has one more season in my book. Started thinking something might be wrong last season and now I'm really concerned... Hope he's not another bust but if so the sooner we make a change the better.

Price needs to cut some corners and stretch some rules to get this ship righted. Our bench players from CUSA 1.0 would smoke our current starters.

90% of this is due to 2017 when I sgree we may have been the worst. However, as I stated during those other 2 years, no way were we the worst FBS team.
