... and that's kind of a shame, as they should be in. They played arguably the toughest schedule in the country. One of their losses is to a playoff team, another is to a team that will finish in the top seven, and the third to a team that will finish around #18, and two of those were on the road.

3-3 vs. top 25 with 3 of those on the road should put them right in the 10-15 slot. Prior to today they had lost to 6, 7 and 12 and beaten 10, 16 and 24. But there is nothing that happened yesterday that should push them above Washington into that #11 slot (they probably pass TCU and Stanford).

Thing is, Washington shouldn't have been ranked higher to begin with, so the committee should correct its mistake.

Washington played nobody OOC, and didn't even face their conference champ in USC. They lost to Arizona State and their one good win was Washington State. They are IMO overrated right now.

And congrats to Clemson. They took it to Miami and won convincingly. The Tigers are the standard now for college FB excellence. That was one prime ass kicking on Miami. However, it was Miami's best season in 14 +/- years and the Canes are primed to be as good of better for the future. Even with the lopsided loss, things are on the upswing for Miami, and the ACC. And now it's go Tigers and win it all.

Hard to argue with any of that, other than to say that I think the winner of Alabama vs Clemson would have the claim to be THE standard for excellence. But I think Clemson is going to win so i'm not arguing, LOL.

Also, in 45 years of watching college football, I've never seen the ACC stronger than it has been the last couple years. The ACC, which wasn't even a power conference during the 1960s- 1980s, and was basically a one-man-band during the 1990s and well in to the 2000s, was the best conference last year and might be this year too.

ACC definitely riding high right now on the field.

And with Miami's resurgence, and expecting VT to challenge for lead team for the ACC, and FSU will get a top notch coach, and well they're the 'Noles, and they have been, and will be good. That equates to 4 very strong teams who could challenge for the ACC championship and the CFP. The year Miami is what the ACC was hoping to get from the Canes when they joined in 2004. Miami is just 13 years late to the party.
