BG ties it. Absolutely amazing turn-and-shoot goal by Erica Hubert. 1-1 with about 12 minutes left.

Rockets just had an amazing chance, but kept out by a great save, followed by another block by a defender. 1-1 still.

Going to OT. Starting to get tornado warnings here on the west side. Should be able to finish the game before the real bad weather hits Kent.

RE: UT Soccer 2017
Sophie Pohl named tourney MVP. She's joined by Price, Paradiso and Echiverri on the all-tourney team.

I had forgotten, but UT and BG were both picked to finish 6th in their divisions in the pre-season poll.

UT Soccer 2017
Sort of suprised Kent doesn't have a soccer specific stadium, and that they would be allowed to host.

Nice job, lady Rockets.

RE: UT Soccer 2017
Blade gives a short drab article about the UT win, including a stock photo instead of one from the tourney:
http://www.toledoblade.com/UT/2017/11/05...title.html

BG paper on the other hand has a long detailed article with a relevant photo, quotes from the coach, etc. about their loss:
http://www.sent-trib.com/sports/falcon-w...1fef6.html

The Blade sucks.

On the other hand, the BG coach basically said they were the better team, and they outplayed Toledo, but "unfortunately" lost. Umm, ok.

I’m not sure but what the BG coach was right. Sure, you can say 11straight wins shows that UT is dominating BG and living rent-free in their heads like in football but it could just be that soccer is the kind of game where you can be the better team and outplay an opponent and still lose twice in one year and eleven straight.

Rockets will play Wisconsin in Madison on Friday.

Happy to see UT wasn't placed against 1 of the seeds (only 16 of the 64 teams are seeded).

RE: UT Soccer 2017
Looks like 3 common opponents with UW:

UT:
@ Detroit, 1-1 T
@ UMich, 0-1 L
@ NIU, 2-1 W (OT)

UW:
Detroit, 1-0 W
NIU, 2-0 W
UMich, 1-2 L (OT)

Not a huge disparity, especially given all the UT games were on the road and all the UW games were at home.

Weather forecast in Madison is around freezing but no rain/snow.
