Breakfast with the Broncos
Dip, are you going to provide your usual good analysis of the BWTB event, or whatever they call it now? Always enjoyed your description of the rubber eggs, faux sausage and weak orange juice.

RE: Breakfast with the Broncos
Just looked at our roster: what happened to our former walk-on guard who earned a scholarship last year and then was hurt all year? Is either Kyle McDermed G, or Jason Whitens F, a walk-on this year?

RE: Breakfast with the Broncos
Ryan Wade is the player given a scholarship & then was hurt last year. WMUBroncos.com currently has 2 different versions of 2017-18 roster. Wade is on one of those but not the other.

Kyle McDermed is a walk-on.

Note: Jason Whitens has not experienced losing a high school basketball game since his frosh year. 108-1 in four years.

Wrote a piece about what I'm looking for at Breakfast with the Broncos. I'll link it below. I think the biggest unknowns are: is Wilder going to vault into a big time superstar? is Davis or Printy going to surpass Moore at the 2? is the offense gonna become more Wilder pick and roll oriented? is Dugan gonna fix his problems on D and with turnovers so his elite rebounding can be useful?

Nice read I'll throw in a wild card. Drake Lamont, played at 70% last year after injury on Euro tour. He is better around the rim and this is his senior year. Not many MAC schools have a 6-10' - 7'0 rotation. In the day of the three pointer a strong inside game at the Mid Major level is lethal.

Was wondering why nobody mentioned Lamont. When he is ON, he can be a big difference maker.

Today saw a Josh Davis that we have been hearing about for two years. HE LOOKED GREAT. Looked thinner, QUICKER and a great shooter. He could be the link that makes us a well oiled machine.

RE: Breakfast with the Broncos
Mike Flowers impressed me. This is the freshman Hawkins was hinting could help the team this year. Some great blind passes, and very quick feet. The Yooper is pretty good also considering he faced mostly class C/D competition in HS. This freshman class has size. No 150# lightweights that seem to ride the bench for 2-3 years. Duggan has improved 100% since his first year. Much better hands. Hawkins was correct when he told the press it would take two season to get him to D1 level play

Too bad we don't have a european excursion this summer to promote team building. I know the players love those trips.

Only allowed every 4th year. I think Hawkins scheduled the two early exh games for exactly this reason. He's also had team activities around the area the last few weeks

WMU will be better team after the four games in South Carolina.

RE: Breakfast with the Broncos
This team is going to be really good this season. Wilder is Wilder and Reggie Jones will probably be better and those two guys will lead this team. Brandon Johnson looks much improved. He was hitting jumpers from all over the court. Dugan is in great shape and it looks like he has worked on his bank shot from 10 feet and in. Lamont's knee is finally healthy and he won't have to wear that huge brace on his knee this season. Moore will play the best perimeter defense on the team. Printy looks like a much better shooter and should provide some offense off the bench. Josh Davis looks the best I have seen in his 2+ years at WMU. He was hitting shots and shooting with confidence. He has always been a great leaper and was very agressive attacking rebounds. Flowers looks like he will contribute immediately in the backcourt as a true freshman. He may be the best ball handler on the team. I am really looking forward to this season.

Should be top 25 mid major program. Ball State is tough also. Ranked No 1 by some for MAC play
