Are you trying to agree with me? Because putting Roy Moore up there is probably not your best rebuttal if you're not.
People that think like you got him elected. Let that sink in

No, bigots and homophobes elected him. Alabama's bigots don't listen to anyone who isn't part of the White/Dominionist/Straight/Confederate Identity movement.

I only lived there for 22 years. I pretty much know how Alabamians process things.

They have a word for making generalizations about groups of people.

Actually, please try to justify a vote for Roy Moore using any other logic other than pure bigotry against persons that don't share his faith and sexual orientation. That's all Moore stands for.

Bigots and homophobes.

All righteousness and morality centers around you?

There's a psychological term for that.

I'm just very happy I no longer live and vote in Alabama.

A vote for Moore is a vote for a lunatic.

A vote for Jones is a vote for Chuck Schumer.

Hard to tell which is worse.

It got to special rights (not gay rights) due to LazyTom. That man is all gay, all the time. If you don't think a thread you started can be pivoted to "all gay all the time", you're wrong. Tommy will find a way. He always finds a way.

Congratulations to every Red, White and Blue veined American patriot. We had our tea party and we won the war.

Screw the Whiney Millionaires and their faux outrage.

You really think you've won? LOL.

The NFL is in a precarious position. Here's why

Their business model is primarily valued based upon the payments of liberals, many of whom don't care about football. Its largely liberal people in liberal cities that must decide whether to issue new bonds for new stadium construction, fund taxpayer giveaways for the owners, and who are subject to 'must take' cable contracts that require them to pay the NFL 300 bucks a year to watch HGTV. There are multiple paths for liberals to make the NFL pay for allowing Donald Trump to set their personnel policies. Enjoy trying to get a new bond issue passed in urban areas when the league has just told players "you're going to be a plantation worker from here on out" and still refuses to fire LGBT persons, and has very, very, very few players that don't come from a straight Christian environment. Losing the African American core support for the league would be a disaster. Suburban municipalities aren't likely to have the scope to fund what the cities have been doing for the NFL.

Its not about the fans or the players, its about the owners. The NFL made this crystal clear when they moved the Chargers to Los Angeles, where they have no fans and zero eyeballs watching their games. This will not change anytime soon (even if the Chargers start winning). A NFL team is valued almost exclusively off of TV must take revenue and taxpayer giveaways.

This is not surprising that the NFL owners caved. Many of them are hard right Trumpers. Hopefully, the players can find some way to make a publicly visible protest of Trump/Racism at the games going forward.

Thanks for that.

It's late, I needed a good evening laugh after an otherwise long day.

Good to see you back, crazybrook! 03-thumbsup

Oh? Then why weren't they kneeling en masse PRIOR to Trump saying anything?

Of course some players are just kneeling in protest of Trump but the true protest started before Trump was even in office.

I hate that the actual point of the protest has been lost and the attention is on a piece of cloth, a song and now a man

Yet there your guys are focusing on a piece of cloth and a song. I said from day one they were doing their cause a disservice by their actions, their efforts would have been better expended protesting in the communities, like outside a particular precinct or at city hall, where their perceived injustices actually occurred.

White people don't appear to pay attention to black protests at city hall. That's why they protest at NFL games.

Im so glad we have checks and balances in this country

Actually, he didn't come up with it. The Dems started this a while ago with the idea that owners shouldn't be getting tax benefits from citizens to build their playgrounds.

Republicans in congress jumped on board recently given the protests.

Trump wasn't the first. He's just the most recent.

But one thing is for certain: at this point there seems to be bi-partisan support for cutting tax breaks.

Imagine this -- we've seen the last great sports arena built in the U.S. From now on, budgets will be scaled given the lack of revenue/tax benefit.

I'm good with that. We can also extend it to college and high school sports too. Let them all stand on their own, or do it within some very strict subsidy guidelines. No more 75 million dollar high school stadiums. No more school district paid six figure coaching salaries. No more thousand dollar student subsidies so State U can pay a football conditioning coach 600 grand a year.

No more cable must take contracts either.

Let them pay their own way.

You would find an amazing level of support from many of us conservatives on this too.

Welcome to the firepit! 07-coffee3

Most still don't have a clue that the 3rd party guy just won. Fewer understand that (infiltration strategy) is as close as they'll ever get.

Whoever the next Republican president is, they will receive the same level of hate as Trump. Every Republican president does. It's not Trump.. it's the "R". The left is made up of emotional simpletons with a platform that they can't actually run on, so they sustain themselves with lies and attacks against the right.

All of this only stops when the free money runs out. When our interest payments finally get higher than revenue and our government, and all of the safety nets, have finally been eaten by the locusts.

Then after the stages of grief and lots of starving maybe we'll reinstall a federal republic with limited power that won't try to be our mother/enabler/pusher again.

Roy Moore is a dillweed.

The fact that you guys are losing to an utter dillweed should tell you guys something. But it doesn't.

I suspect you would also be losing to a) nobody b) a rabid weasel c) the Subway guy. I suspect that wouldn't phase you either.
