Exclamation Week 2 CUSA Power Rankings
1. UTSA They're probably not the best team in the conference, but they've played one game and it was a road win at a P5 program, so live it up, Roadrunners!
2. Middle Tennessee See UTSA but with a loss to Vandy. P5 scalps are hard to come by, and getting one allows you to cut the line in these here rankings.
3. Western Kentucky They're still Western Kentucky and you expect them to figure things out in time to be in the CUSA East race, but the first two games have been ... troubling.
4. Marshall Sure, they lost to N.C. State, but they're showing signs that the miasma of last season may be lifting. A low-key contender that may become high-key by the end of the OOC schedule.
5. Louisiana Tech Hey, it could have been worse. It could have been a safety.
6. Old Dominion Two ugly, ugly wins against an FCS and a poor FBS independent do not portend well for back-to-back games against ACC schools (one of which is ranked).
7. Southern Miss Did what you gotta do against overmatched competition — win early, get the backups some run and don't get anyone maimed.
8. Rice If the CUSA season ended today, the Owls would be the indisputable No. 1 team!
9. Florida Atlantic Held their own at Wisconsin; with Bethune-Cookman and Buffalo on the horizon, we'll see if progress equals wins.
10. North Texas It was a good game in the first quarter at least?
11. Charlotte Eastern Michigan was sneaky tough. Kansas State wasn't sneaky at all.
12. UAB Was respectable for the most part in their first game against an FBS program since the relaunch.
13. FIU A late score allowed the Panthers to survive, but even accounting for the late change in venue, a seven-point win against an FCS doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
14. UTEP Getting smacked down at Oklahoma doesn't mean that much. Getting smacked down at home to Rice does.

Baylor sucks and might win 3 games this season, if they are lucky. No way Southern Miss is 7th best team. Doesn't matter though, we'll know soon enough.

I wouldn't make a bold statement like that just yet.

Alright. I will give you that. May be i haven't see anything along those lines in the UK game. I am not trying to put you guys down but i just don't see that in USM just yet.

Noobies be Noobies.
Youngsters gotta learn the hard way. Just the way it is.
We are turning the corner from a kill shot. Talent is getting back to close to the past and the future is waiting in the wings.
BTW, if Griggs gets hurt early we will see Rodriguez. For four years. He will be capable with our receivers to beat all CUSA teams. We shall see.

We don't lose to any Noobies this year. Even having to go to USTA two years in a row.

USM is still a year away. O-line too inexperienced. 7 wins probable.

Time to put away the past. The young guys on the line are pass blocking well. Run blocking not so well but is the easiest to fix. We will be fine there. Plenty of talent and size with the younguns. Thing is the defense is getting a nasty again. That's what will make the difference.
Just CANNOT put Howard back in against any competition with the game on the line. We waisted one game on him. Please no more.

Have to admit, when we played USM at home last year, I kept thinking "these guys are good, real good" If they had a QB they'd be dangerous.

You think UMS is the only one bringing in talent?

RE: Week 2 CUSA Power Rankings
UTSA beat a Baylor team that is probably going 0-12 by 7. I'm just not sure about them.
ODU beat a bad UMASS team and didn't beat the crap out of Albany. Good but not great.
Mid Tenn lost to Vandy, no one knows anything about them, but beat Syracuse, which no one knows about either, so I'm not sure about them either.
WKU struggled with EKU and lost to an ok Illinois team, I see them about 5 or 6.
Marshall beat a Miami team that I think is gonna go 8-4 and loss to a ok NC State team.
La Tech looks bad.
USM loss to a bad SEC team but did what they were suppose to this week.

The rest look bad.
I say:

USM
ODU
Marshall
MT
WKU
UTSA
La Tech

Then the bad bad teams.
