[b]I humbly submit my apologies for overlooking your excellent team. I hope you win the FCS this year and join the FBS where you belong. I also hope ECU rebounds and has a winning season so it will make your win look that much better! Good Luck! 01-ncaabbs

We now have to get ready for West Virginia 03-banghead03-puke

That's very gracious of you. Thanks! Good luck building the team - it's a hard job, but you can get there.

There are no humble ECU fans. Just an observation.

FWIW, I don't think ECU will be looking to schedule JMU again anytime soon.

If you guys could look past labels and what the landscape looked like 20 years ago, you'd see the conference we truly belong in is the AAC.

The only thing that matters is today and tomorrow.

Our facilities, budget, success, support, academics, location, school size and the direction we are headed all scream AAC level.

It's too bad people in positions of power can't see past labels and false perception and won't think 5-10 years down the road at what might be best.

ECU folks in Section 17 were quite nice tonight. They started off a little boisterous, but by the end were very humbled and congratulatory. Had at least 4 of them shake our hands and wish us well. We told them to go kick butt in their AAC games this year.

Overall, it was a nice stadium and a great experience. Not a bad thing to say about the school or its fans.

I had a few riled up early in the game to the point I think they were dang near ready to fight, but the coolest dude sitting right in front of me (and he was the biggest of all the ECU fans around) ignored me and went about being a cool dude. Late in the game I had one fan come to me and apologize for several others' behavior, my return was well I guess that I sort of deserved what they were dishing out, I was being a smart ass fan, they just couldn't stand it when I would shout "Punch 'em in the neck" those first couple minutes when we were so dominant.

The fans in section 19 were pretty annoyed with us but everyone was friendly. Overall a great experience.

It's not just past labels, it's the current labels. We are FCS and need time to transition. AAC is marketing itself as P6 (which in opinion is plain silly). It's hard to be taken seriously as a P6, if that is even possible, when one of your members is an FCS transition school. Plus our MB program is a train wreck right now and the basketball first schools in the AAC are not going to water down their basketball profile. It's the longest of long shots.

Thanks for coming back for the congratulations. I was shocked at how well we played, especially on defense.
I want ECU to have a successful season and I want nothing more than to see you all beat tech. I'll be rooting for the pirates.
In terms of fbs, we should've been there a decade ago. Our president has no balls.

Agree 100%. I noticed on the yard markers last night they had P6 on the top of them last night. There is no P6 and never will be. It doesn't happen just because you say it exists. If anything, it will stymie any moves for the G5 to develop its own level of national playoff for at least a decade probably until the AAC finally gets a clue that it isn't invited into the Power Conference Country Club - AND NEVER WILL BE!!

Some might pat them on the back for "trying". Lots of failures "tried". This marketing campaign is on par with the Big 12's ridiculous "One True Champion" thing where they wound up with co-champions with no conference title game. Nice 'try' but really stupid - and to a degree very insulting to Joe Public's intelligence.

I never use the monikers FBS or FCS. I think they are dumb and tired. I'm perfectly fine going old school with D1A and D1AA. Nowadays, D1A really is defined by P5 and G5. And, that gap will only get wider and wider as we are seeing.

With a couple minor exceptions, ECU fans were very classy and friendly. Dowdy-Ficklen was a good venue. The crowd wasn't particularly loud or intimidating but I understand that when it's an FCS opponent. Good luck the rest of the year. We'll be interested to see how you do in the next couple of weeks against WVU and even more interestingly, VT. Although I thought the refs got extremely touchy with the PI calls in the second half where a couple of times I thought our guys played the ball perfectly, you guys definitely have some big time talent at WR and a couple other positions.

The ECU fans we came across were very nice. We sat in 117, Row B and there were some kids in front of us who immediately starting heckling Duke Dog and the players and talking smack but by the end 1st quarter they had cut it down, by halftime they were pretty much silent and during the 4th quarter they were walking out of there but fist bumped us on the way out and complimented our team. When we went to Hooters after the game, an ECU fan came over and laid his "BEAT JMU" button on the table and gave our team props. We had a great convo with a couple of other ECU fans while there, too. Good football loving people who are not very happy with their team, particularly Montgomery. They know they're in for a long season.

Strange as it may sound, I had a really positive experience with a minor exception! People were really nice in the lots.
